Its been a tough year for footage especially this late season. Hope you enjoyed the video anyways and although uploads have not been often as in previous years. we are just like everyone else, trying to find the time to get out an hunt. Life gets busy but we hope to always take the camera to the woods as often as we can when we get out. Fair chase pennsylvania hunting isn't easy to film.

I love flintlock hunting… you REALLY have to have patience and persistence to get even an opportunity at a shot. I feel like hunting the late season flintlock in PA is a challenge all hunters should take to level up in their hunting skill! Keep up the videos !

You did everything perfect. That’s a long hard shot with a flint lock. The first time i hunted flint lock i learned real quick why in the old movies they beat each other with flint locks more than they shot each other with them :-) !!! Your an ethical hunter in every way. Great video work it’s incredible !!!

Always enjoy all your videos. Especially the traditional muzzleloader ones! Your time is much appreciate. Following the flintlock videos inspired me to get my own Tennessee pourboy last year. Took it out this past fall and managed a decent 4x4 (8 pointer) eastern count here in BC. Hard to get energized at 70 plus years but this has me cranked for 2023. Keep up the good work!

Always look forward to seeing your primitive hunts, I'm in Allegheny county New York, we have more deer than people, we can hunt with modern rifles,but we have the old guns as well, love taking a deer with a muzzleloader

Not sure we're your hunting in allegany county but we don't have any deer near our camp near plum bottom . And cant get doe tags to save our life even tho we have 100 + acres

That was a couple really nice bucks and will be truly trophies next year !! I know it’s hard just getting ethical shots with a flintlock. Most have no idea how inaccurate they are past 50-60 yards. These are always my favorite videos. Hope next year you all have better success !!

Yeah, I have to get out in bow season now lol. That firepit was made my brother and his friends They camp out there now and then. We just did a push near it and saw some doe. It was getting late so I suggested we hang out here and build a fire instead of chasing a deer we may not e er see again. Glad we made the fire!

It was a tough season to hunt with the flintlock. Deer were busting out in spots just being spooky in general. Last day had a doe bust me cocking my gun but I don’t think it would help much since I had one heck of hangfire when I shot the gun off. Going to probably replace the liner with a better one then screw with my load a little bit

I've noticed less powder in my pan makes it go of faster, second a white lighting touch hole liner is great. I have one on my fowler and it made that gun go off faster imo

@@Leatherwoodoutdoors I’m looking at getting one installed on my Shenandoah 50 cal which is my main flintlock that I use. I use very little powder in my pain which goes off good but I can’t stand the hang fires so I’m going to talk with the guys at Jim chambers and see what size will be the best for my gun. My gun loves 90 grains of 2f but I’m going to play around with the load a little bit and maybe try sone 3f as well.

Great video. Im from Westmoreland County and hoping to do a period correct flintlock hunt this season if i can get a kit together in time. Starting from scratch as i traded my Hawken to a buddy for a Beretta .45 a few years ago. Kinda regretting that now.

Thanks. We use regular boots for walking in late season. Shhh..dont tell anyone lol. Some of the guys did bring proper footwear but didn't use them due to weather. Most of the time in late season it's too dangerous to wear period correct footwear. We try not to film our feet much lol.

We've tried that in the past and it's very hard to film. There's lots of hunters in our area and the coyotes around us seem to be very educated. I'm sure some day we will get a good hunt on camera.

I wish that you could do a video about your flint locks. The name of each 1 and if you can still buy 1 and the price tag to buy the guns on markets . And the ammo that you and the hunters a shooting out of each 1... and how much powder that you are putting in each flintlock on the hunts . Thank you for reading this . From a disabled deer hunter .
