My father never watched TV, but he never missed an episode of the Flip Wilson show. I don’t think I did either. Variety shows back then we’re fantastic.

We loved watching Flip. We even had the first Flip Wilson doll. One of our favorites was the Henry VIII scratch with Lee Marvin. We were dying. Flip, you left us too early. Rest in peace.

Geraldine with Joe Namath was the best of all combinations. Joe could not keep from laughing and we laughed with him! The football jokes just cracked him up. "Compared to you, Jim Brown is Sir Lawrence Olivier." Those of us who were around and watching this back in 1970 or so, really got these jokes! Flip and George Carlin's news sketch was hilarious!! Thank you so much for posting these great old memories. No cursing, no filth just plain out of sight talent!!!!!

I watched this when it first aired , I wish that they would be the reruns on . Flip ( Geraldine ).always so funny . Joe laughed mostly all the way through this , so did I . I have loved Joe since the 1960s and I still do . I love his beautiful green eyes . He is always so gorgeous & sexy . I will always love Broadway Joe ❤
