She was 40. The dolphin died "of old age" last week at the Miami Seaquarium where she was born in 1956; Atlantic bottlenose dolphins typically live 25 to 35 years.

Kathy, one of 5 dolphins to play Flipper, was the dolphin who committed suicide in 1968 in her trainer’s arms. Bebe was the dolphin to live to 40 years and died in 1997. She was not one of the original 5.
