Hindsight is 20-20 but to anyone reading this comment I have some advice. I work at a pawn shop and it is easy to think that once things are stolen they get pawned off and disappear forever. My advice is to document every important detail of every expensive item you buy the minute you get it home. That means make, model, serial number, and any identifying features. Believe it or not pawn shops are highly regulated and the employees are required to take and record ID from anyone they do a transaction with. Also, every item a pawn shop takes in gets entered into a nationwide database and gets put on an automatic police hold. This means if your item is stolen in Georgia and someone tries to sell it at a pawn shop in New York it will get the attention of law enforcement. Another thing is to file a police report immediately or else it isn't technically stolen in the eyes of the law. Anyway, hope it helps. Sorry some a-hole stole your stuff.

Do what I do when out adventuring in the woods... I use a thin and long steel cable with loops on both ends and a small lock to secure a box filled with my goodies. They have heavy duty relatively light weight cases of all types available. I can lock to a tree, thick root, etc... No one can just walk up and take it or open box without serious tools. Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work!

That eastern black kingsnake you caught looks just like Theo, the little guy that lives in my herb garden. I have "known" him since he was a baby about 12" long and he is now about the size of the one you found. There is one much, much bigger that lives in my compost heap next to the kitchen garden. I like having them around esp. the big one, keeps the rodents out of the gardens but, I am not one to handle them.

Great video Noah!! I’m so sorry that you guys had to go thru that. I remember being at a zoo and my car got broken into and they took my purse, as well as some o5her stuff in the car. Loosing my wallet I felt like my identity had been taken and I had an extra car key in my wallet too. There was a car parked sorta close with 2 guys looking in our direction, and all I could think was that they came back for the car...........I was scared and devastated. Hopefully things will start looking up. I loved all of the wildlife footage! I can’t believe that deer didn’t care that you were there. I hope it was not sick. At a very young age my uncle began taking me herping in florida. In the 90s there were still indigo populations strong enough to go out and find them on purpose. That is almost not heard of in suburban central Florida anymore. Anyways thank for the nostalgia.

Not sure if you pursued it, but Homeowners Insurance would cover cameras and other items stolen from you while you're away from home. If you have homeowners insurance (or if your parents carry it, and you live at home), it's likely you will have at least partial coverage.

I've gotten to where I don't really keep wild snakes anymore with the exception of garter snakes. They are just the easiest snake for me to keep really. Rodent eating snakes aren't really bad pets but I don't really like breeding mice that much anymore. Two of my female box turtles layed eggs today. I hope all of your equipment is able to be replaced or even found at some point.
