Flying a seaplane is absolutely amazing. I'm not sure how else to describe this video... If you have the opportunity to fly a seaplane, do it. It's awesome!

I must say what a joy to have Sarah as your instructor. Her teaching style is straiight forward coincise and very calm and relaxed. Nothing worse than adding tension to an already stressful first time landing on water. Sarah does a really awesome job.

This is fascinating. I grew up in Anchorage, but never learned to fly. But I loved watching the planes at Lake Hood. And Sarah's explanation of why some float planes have a ventral fin was really interesting. This whole series is really fantastic.

Your last two videos are my favorites. Sarah was such an awesome instructor. She seems laid back and calm, but if you watch her observations she is in complete control of the situation in case of any surprises. Great scenery and I love the low approaches where you snake in through the terrain to set up for landings. Amazing!

Wow that moose was incredible not to mention everything else. I wish I could have just rode in the back seat. I am going to go there when I go back to alaska to watch as I cant fly but just to take it in is a true gift. Thank you Josh for bringing such beauty to the rest of us. Thanks to your instructor with that calm mellow voice I bet makes it so easy to learn as well. Just a huge thank you.

I won’t repeat the other amazing comments, or bother talking about how amazing this series is and yes, it’s amazing ! What loved about this one was realizing that pilots have to change a bit of thinking and logic, when learning this side of aviation. We are so programmed, that when we try to deviate, it’s not natural. An instructor like Sarah makes it easy. And in this adventure, it’s the amazing people that make it so special. Another big thank you to everyone who make this possible ! 🇺🇸🛫

Agreed, I’m watching this one at home! That was gorgeous! She (Sarah) reminded me of you in some ways...her demeanor is relaxed, confident and grounded(no pun intended). For any issue or question posed, she had the answer. In my opinion, marks of a great teacher no matter the profession. The mark you two will leave on aviation will be substantial to so many. I include others in that statement as well...Stevo1kinevo, Baron Pilot etc....Thank you for sharing and teaching. I hope you keep that passion for a lifetime. Well done!!

Josh, every time I think your videos can't get any better, then I see this one. Sarah was outstanding. It was a pleasure to hear her insights and knowledge of float plane flying. You couldn't have picked a better person to learn with. Chris Palmer is great in the land plane but Sarah is who I'd want to fly with on water. The moose scene with Denali …..you and Sarah truly shared a Zen moment as fellow pilots on a perfect day. How rare is that in this world......

My Dad was taking seaplane lessons and I was lucky enough to be allowed to go on a flight with him. It was a blast. Taking off and landing on water is a much more awesome feeling than on boring ol' land. We were coming in for a landing and I had my forehead against the window watching the float get closer and closer to the water when we hit a little hard and my head bounced off the window. Didn't think about that maybe happening. lol Thank you for this. It brought back a great memory for me. Good job on your lesson, and Sarah's an excellent instructor in how she explains all of the small but equally important details.

Well if you think that you get a pro in to something there is always a discipline that you don' t know about, and suddenly you feel like you have a hole bunch to learn and makes you feel like you all green again. Respect the way you processing it and let everything coming at you to absorb it and makes you a better pilot. This serie is a perfect example not for every pilot but for everyone who wants to be the best at somthing they love to do. Keep up the good work ;-).

In a channel that I've come to expect a LOT of content happening in various threads through the course of a given video, this one stands out. The video had me with the opening drone shots and just got better. The explanation of the differences of float operation was richly succinct with a smooth flow. The difficulties of shelving learned behaviors which are desired and normal in other circumstances, is well worth noting. It also begs the question of how to go about developing, for lack of a better term, 'adaptive fluency'. And the gem moments; doing donuts at the end of the lake to 'hold', on up through meeting Bullwinkle for a post card shot with Denali. An absolute gem. Many thanks. :)
