We're completing our 2nd floor make-over! It is time to say goodbye to the existing blue carpet because we're installing Stuga engineered wood flooring (in the color moonlight). By installing the flooring, we can finally finish the top of our stair, too!

This is an amazing project! well done. I'm actually looking to do the exactly same thing in my two storey home. How your guys control the noise with the timber floor comparing to the carpet before?

The underlayment we used is sound dampening, but otherwise we haven’t noticed any disruptive noise from the wood floors

Wow. I was thinking dado and rabet for the piece that goes into the stair nose. It’s impressive he did that with multi tool and a chisel!

We are getting ready to do the same thing on the 2nd floor. So did you end up putting and trim piece against still plate? Undercutting seems so hard, ugh! The floors look amazing!

Thank you! Good luck with your flooring! We ended up ripping off the tounge of the boards and butt them stair up to the railing plate! It worked out perfectly. No regrets on abandoning the undercut
