You forget that he also decided to build a new shop next year. Plus if the 856 ever does its job with the 504, there will be a brand new Cub Cadet (2401 xd) 10 months later.

Pete it's great that you can share quality time with your dad at tractor sales. My dad died 10yrs ago aged 90. We used to love going to the shows, auctions and plow days with my son. 3 generations. Now I'm the grandpa and I go with my son and grandson to the shows. Take care of your dad, spend as much time as you can with him because when he's not there anymore you can't imagine the hole it leaves in your life. Great video, thanks for taking us along to the auction with you. Best wishes. Peter. UK. 🇬🇧🚜

Missed you and Hillary on Sunday Pete. Always enjoyed having you two for noon time coffee. I am truly glad to see you and your Dad on outings. I am so happy and jealous. When they are gone, you miss these times. Dad would be 110 if alive. I enjoyed and cherished the short time I did have with him and Mom. She passed year after Dad died. I go to events like that, just to see nostalgia. Thank you both for a Father & son day out.

Well Pete, I have to confess, I went to the "Green Side" this weekend. To much work to do to restore anything right now. I picked up a 2021 JD 2025r compact with Front loader, 60" mower deck and a back hoe with 11 hours on it. It's not red but it will do for what I need right now.... Thanks for all your work on the channel.

Pete, The Sheppard Diesel was produced by the R.H. Sheppard Company of Hanover, Pennsylvania. In 1949, the company created a kit to repower a Farmall M with a 3-cylinder Sheppard Diesel. The conversion was not a great success, but it did lead to the introduction of the Sheppard farm tractor. The company produced tractors until 1956. The R.H. Sheppard company is still in business today producing power steering technologies for the heavy truck industry.

Hey Pete! you are a joy to listen to! Cheers to you sir! Edit: Upstate NY....my dad was a ww2 survivor but didn't farm. all his younger brothers were farmers. One (200 acres) had unlimited driftwood that he was able to sell as art! Another (acreage by the river) was a an incredible trapper who sold all pelts for market price. another (my uncle Bill) raised horses appaloosa's....because everyone is a workhorse on Miller Hill! My dad's was the oldest, he grew up on the farm, then as a teenager he fell in love with a girl (Julie Dursham) all her family were stone masons, my dad understood its either move mountains or become a pharmacist. God Bless

A lot of great old tractors sitting there if many were in bad shape. I've never seen so many A/Super A hi clears in one place before. I hope whoever bought the 400 will fix it up to use farming. That would be a sharp tractor restored. I'm glad you and Mr. Larson had a great time Mr. Pete.

I love to go to auctions and just listen to the cry of the auctioneer❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ Like you, Pete, & your father, I don’t have to necessarily buy anything. I enjoy seeing the merchandise, I enjoy the food for sure because there’s always good pie, usually anyway, and also friends that you haven’t seen for a while only to willing to have a nice conversation while you check things out. I had waited as long as 14 hours to buy a $40 item that I still had to this day. It was shortly after my grandmother had passed away, and it was a “Methodist hymnal”…. they had so much to say all that day that I really didn’t get to pick it up and look at it. But the fact that it was a Methodist hymnal made me want to have it. I could see that it was a leather bound, small hymnal, and when I was going through the box quickly, so as not to make anyone suspicious that I was interested in it, I noted that it was an 1880 hymnal. This excited me even more. Imagine my surprise when I got home with it and I didn’t recognize a single song at it. Now, why , you ask? Because even though it was titled a Methodist The truth lies, technically, it was a preachers pocket Bible .. Designed to fit inside his pocket, generally a suit pocket as he traveled from one township to another preaching. No, I’m not saying there’s no songs in it at all, but it doesn’t read like a hymnal, but rather like sermons. The joke is kind of on me and it taught me to be more careful about looking thoroughly before I purchase although I wasn’t out a lot of money, and I have grown to love leather him now every day, for it, craftsmanship his hand sewn, and the the beautiful, worn gilded ages, Elena onion, thin paper, and the fact that my great grandparents would’ve most likely sat in church, listening to the circuit preacher as he came by with this beautiful preachers hymnal❣️❣️❣️❣️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I went to an auction the other day, never left my chair, won the bid on a 1944 Farmall M, 750.00. Called my wife at work, she said that i planned the whole thing, all i did was bid the buyers premieum which was 750. Bingo your a winner!, but it turns out the old tractor runs very well, but like all of the cheap ones the back tires are junk, so now i can go to more sales looking for tires.🤠

My wife thinks it's kinda funny when I get a new "project" because I'll spend a day or two trying to see if it'll run. Most of the time they will, then I tear em apart and get at it. Wife ask, why get it running if your going to rebuild it anyway. I just say well most this stuff I get was made 1920's to 70's. I'm always intrigued at how stubborn they are about running, not always great but running. Stuff they build today seems just as happy to not run.
