It still blows my mind to think that a singer from a metal band, who literally does growling vocals in some of their songs, can hit and hold that D6 note for almost 8 seconds with power, volume, clarity and even some vibrato in the latter half. That is an extremely impressive feat on its own, let alone the fact that she can do so much else so well.

I’m sure someone has mentioned it, but Henk’s performance of the Sound of Silence was amazing. Since it was Floors turn on the couch, he picked the Disturbed version. It’s totally worth checking out! Oh, Henk is one of her inspirations when she started singing (or close to it, it’s been a long day), he also played the Phantom in the Dutch version of the play. Andrew Loyd Weber, creator of The Phantom of the Opera, has said that Henk played that role better than anyone.

They were doing Nightwish's version! Henk has spent his entire career singing without distortion but is absolutely loving the freedom to do what the hell he likes now. They all appeared to have an amazing time on the show, and he and Floor really hit it off. He said he'd only do this song if he could sing with Nightwish when they play in Holland. This Dutch tv show is recorded in summertime somewhere on Ibiza island. People may think they're singing live (that's true) with the pre-recorded band sound. Well that's NOT true; even the band is playing live! The band is called the MF Band with Marcel Fisser as the bandleader. So, also credits to them.

In season 2018 of Beste Zangers there was a young opera singer Maria Feselied doing Enimen’s rap Lose yourself and also this season Henk did The sound of silence disturbed. He only practice this 20 minutes. That’s awesome.

Henk Poort is a very established baritone from the netherlands, and part of many opera’s, operettes and musicals. Floor was a big fan of him, and straight away wanted to do This duet with him. And he accepted but only when they can do this duet at the nightwish concert in the netherlands.

Henk was the first Dutch language Phantom in the early 90s - if you look for Henk Poort and Joke de Kruijf you'll find a live TV performance of Het Spook van de Opera from around 1993,

The audience are all singers. :) In most of these Beste Zanger songs the singer is singing toward the person sitting next to the host in the couch (middle-left seat from the sitting perspective). Each episode is oriented toward one person.. Btw. Floor asked Henk if he could join her - he accepted with one condition: to sing with Nightwish next time they visit Netherlands. She said "ja ja ja ja ja!" So - I imagine we will at some point in the near future see them singing together again on the BIG stage - hopefully a video on youtube will show up so we can see it.

The best I ever saw... no doubt Nightwish is coming to the Netherlands and Henk and Floor are going to do this song together then..but I believe only here in the Netherlands.

his is Tuomas's/Nightwish's arrangement of ''The Phantom of the Opera. See for yourself with their first female: singer, Tarja. When Nightwish plays Amsterdam in November of 2020. Which is already sold out. Floor promised Henk that he could sing it with her then. Henk played the 'Phantom. there in the Netherlands, for a few years back in the early 90's. Floor grew up admiring Henk and he is somewhat a mentor to her early on in her career.

Thanks, this was really performance! Good way to end show and that season. I have seen this song several times from different singers, this one I liked most. It was based on Nightwish cover, what I liked also. I think it was one of the best songs from "Tarja era". And of course original was good. And also I liked original singer Sarah Brightman with Antonio Banderas. Even Antonio´s high voice was a surprise! Floor has done this also before, but that I did not like so much, mainly male singer caused that... After this came out last Saturday, then Sunday one Finnish internet music magazine put headline, Day when internet went broken... I guess that last day duets were viewed so many times, but specially this song. In 30h it was viewed already 1 050 000 times in KZfaq! And I am also guilty for that, I also looked it several times... But hey, it is our Floor :D !!!

Guys this according to Yoda "Disturbed the FORCE this Floor Jansen did" and it took you 4 days to feel that disturbance (LOL)!!!! WOW..yeah that is the reaction we are getting from almost everyone who has reviewed it! Well I will never make it to those heavenly gates but who cares..I just heard what an angel sounds like!!!! How much fun did these two have doing this duet and the band as usual were fantastic, some real props to them as they have done a great job with many songs from different genres and done each of them amazingly. Seriously great reaction...Brian lucky this wasn't on your music player on that plane as it could of brought it down!! FYI: this song is not a Nightwish song (although they did cover it and this performance was based on the Nightwish version) but it comes from the stage musical of the same name. Henk Poort is a much venerated opera / musical performer who has starred in The Phantom as well.
