Hey guys! We’re Jimmy & Natalie, and we’re really excited to share our journey with you as we work on converting our new short bus into our very own tiny home on wheels!
Our bus is a 1997 Thomas International Short Bus. We have some big plans for completing the build, and for traveling in it as soon as it’s ready.
We hope you stick around for our weekly videos!

Chris here. Commented on first video I watched tonight, Route 66. As I said earlier. Starting from the begining here. Bringing myself up to speed. And then staying current. I am thoroughly going to enjoy watching you guys. This is Christmas Night. Good night.

💯POWER WATCHING ALL VIDEOS... Had a shity week thank you for turning that around. Given the advice before Second Amendment right or at least carry plenty of Mace and bear spray with you. And whenever in trouble or need help go live. Plenty of subscribers that will help you👊🏼👍🏼✌🏼💯

You two are a great team. Removing the railings was supposed to be an easy job, but instead must have felt like a test in patients !

Yes! It was probably one of the hardest things we had to do during this build... luckily it was at the very beginning and could get it out of the way! 😂

I love the chain lock on the OUTSIDE of the bus! If I was a bad guy I would just walk away. I don't know how I could get through that. HaHa. Keep it up you guys.

I'm getting terribly nostalgic - I almost bought a little skoolie months ago. It had a fair amount of mileage on it, and I was worried about the high gas mileage they get, but I loved all the windows, and imagined how, when some of the seats were removed, how it could look. I should have bought it... 😢😭😭😭😭😢

I just found you guys on KZfaq. I'm doing my own bus build currently, and I plan to binge watch all of your videos from this first one to the end, and will have viewed all of your videos by the end of the week. I'm a different kind of commenter and like to provide feedback, even if retroactively, to assist with techniques, and understand you may have already learned from any mistakes made that I may comment on. If I were doing KZfaq I'd want the same kind of feedback. The critique is for your benefit later. Don't take it the wrong way. This may not be the last bus you build and tips I provide may also help with a second build later on, and I'd love to hear responses from you to help me learn for my build as well based on my comments. Let me know if what I'm suggesting is a bad idea, I won't take offense,. Try to consider where I'm at in the video commenting to keep spoilers out :) At least until I get to your latest video. Please watch for my comments over the next week. I'm curious to know if the removal of the floor helped with allergies. I also have allergies. I feel instinctively though that maybe it's partially the insulation material inside of the bus walls that also may be making you allergic. They used a cheap R2 insulation that many people have been allergic to and not to mention it's also accumulated a lot of dander from pets or people over the years of service before you owned it.

My bus is a 1995 Thomas Bus and is an 8 window but otherwise nearly exactly the same as yours in design. 1994-97 were the same build basically. Same console etc. One difference I see however is you have tracks for the seats. Be grateful because in the 95 they didn't use tracks. We have the same problem with one person under the bus and one above, but I had the added issue of the seat bars being in the way that weren't as easily detachable as the tracked versions. Also it seems the previous owner already removed the seats so that has helped you out more than you know. Seat removal was one of the hardest things so far in my bus prep. I'm also curious do you have the J1708 port under the driver seat by your feet to the left or is it a newer J1939? And do you have a 3 box bus or a consolidated computer system?

What did you do, if anything, to make sure the bus was mechanically sound before you bought it? Like the engine and drivetrain?

Hope you got that thing cheap, if you spent a little more money you'd have less problems, like an older Sprinter van, have seen them for around $6000

I'm a fellow asthmatic, a medical geek and suffer with ABPA; see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allergic_bronchopulmonary_aspergillosis . Is Natalie allergic to pet dander or what pets roll around and play in outdoors (grasses, pollen, etc.)? I'm not allergic to pet dander, but everything pets roll around and play in outdoors; pollens, grasses and obviously fungus and mold. I can sniff and nuzzle indoor pets that have been decontaminated from grasses, pollen and fungus/mold without issue. It's very comforting to me to snuggle an animal. I'm just morbidly curious as one asthmatic to another. Stay safe & healthy.
