At 0:24 is when idolatry is mentioned, which while it could just be a reference to Ranger being an "idol" (as in, being material and of human design) this could also reference his original design, where he was meant to idolize humanity, or otherwise his value for human emotion (specifically as it relates to death). At 0:18, Maple is shown, specifically referencing "waivering your say in autonomy" because Maple herself is not intentionally in love with Midori (as pictured alongside her), but programmed, and as such has no autonomy.

OK, IT'S ANALYSIS TIME!! This is just the stuff I've noticed that I haven't seen mentioned by anyone else 0:00 I think it was a really clever idea to use art from the manga for this scene. The different art styles kinda makes it seem like life before the Death Game (the manga art) and life during the Death Game (the game art) are two entirely different realities. 0:21 It's easy to watch this scene and just think the "lock and key" line is only in reference to the Keymaster card. However, notice that the Sacrifice card appears at the word "lock". You could say this is because the Sacrifice is "locked" into their fate; Once you draw that card, it's almost guaranteed death. 0:26 Obviously, people have made the connection to "apology" and Hallucination Joe before, but something I wanna touch on is how the context of the line changes with this edit. In the song alone, it's safe to assume "rent an apology" means you're getting someone else to apologize to you. However, that's not at all the case here. Sara isn't "renting an apology"; She's renting an opportunity to apologize. This is especially fitting, as this line appears during Safalin's part, the one person who can give Sara that very opportunity. 0:30 This one's just a little goofy, but... "No 'I' in team", and then showing the scene where the doll Midori loses an eye? Clever. But, I do have some actual analysis to do on this part! The line references a "con", while showing, as I mentioned before, the doll Midori's supposed death. We eventually learn that the doll Midori's death was a con, meant entirely to set Alice up. So, that's that!

JDJDID THAT LIP SYNCING AHJHHH HOWWWWW🛐🛐🛐🛐

ANALYSIS: 0:05 - "Trapped in that ship." The coffin and Midori are on the screen before Sara appears in the coffin's place. Midori had been waiting "trapped" in that coffin for somebody to investigate/open it, and Sara was the one who did. The hourglass also suggests Keiji being trapped in the coffin with the hourglass ticking down the time before he gets burned. 0:17 - "Waivers your say in autonomy." Maple completely got her "autonomy" taken away because she didn't really love Midori, she was only programmed to. 0:21 - "Lock and key." Sara had the opportunity to "unlock" Joe from his death, but she further questioned him and left his fate sealed. His sacrifice card had his fate locked with only Sara having the "key," and she unintentionally decided to push him into a corner, ultimately causing his death. 0:22 - "Idolatry." Ranger was an incomplete doll, made to "idolize" his father Gashu and refrain from showing any positive traits towards humanity. That idolatry got him killed by his own "idol" in the end. 0:24 - "If you're upset you can rent an apology." Sara's hallucinations of Joe made her a shadow of her former self, the self she was when she was with Joe. Her believing that she was the one who killed Joe defeinitley made her upset. Sara ultimately seeks help through Safalin's machine, which causes a game over, I believe. Joe suffocating Sara shows who the apology is going to be given to, which is in fact, Joe.

The door opening was extremely smooth, Sara's tear, And midori's animation made it more smooth tbh. And Sara's sweat tweening at the start was also really good aswell as her hair movement when you tweened her sprite! The cards as well to showcase Sara's trauma because of Joe made it more amazing and not to mention the card movement was on beat. The sliding transition from each animation gave the edit more life, and there's probably 100 more amazing things I could point out. You clearly put alot of effort into this edit! Good job!

its time for another round of 'can you tell i watch game theory' folks 0:21 not sure if someone has commented this already, but i love how it shows the sacrifice and keymaster cards when they mention "lock and key". i could just be overthinking but the "lock" part could correspond to the fact that the sacrifice card is pretty much doomed to die (unless everyone votes for them), therefore "locking them in their position" 1:03 i didn't catch this during my first watch, but they way that everyone is in their idle position during "family", but suddenly distorts to their evil pose during "forged" was literally so satisfying :O 0:04 you can see how in the bg the stools (or tables idk) are originally blank, then the bottom fills up with sand (signifying that their time has come to an end), which is the overall theme for the edit.
