There is a small community of about 400 families that live permanently on Thailand’s only floating village called Koh Panyee. Almost everything here is built on stilts - a school, a small hospital, restaurants and houses. Join us as we stay overnight to see what local life is like when the tourists leave and life goes on in this floating village.

Phang-nga is one of my favorite providence's in Thailand. Think about living here a lot. Great video. Love the floating village of Koh Panyee. Those grilled Chicken kabob look delicious!

I think we also visited Koh Panyee as part of an island hopping tour back in 2018. Such a different experience this time getting to know some of the locals and staying overnight there :)

what an amazing place full of warm people! thank you for sharing this journey - i literally only discovered Koh Panyee minutes ago when my windows lockscreen was a picture of this floating village. Naturally I wanted to know more about it and your video was the first we watched. This is an interesting video. I have done the James Band Tour which includes Koh Panyee and I stayed there for 2 hours, walked around the market place as well as going to the mosque - I'm a Muslim from the UK so I had time to visit and pray there

I was gonna say that when I went there during 2017, I didn't stay there on Panyee. I didn't think it was necessary to stay there tbh. But Note is right, most people just visit there for a day trip. Which I believe is good enough. Thank you for showing what it's like to stay on the floating village though. It good is see what it is like. When I went there, it was running and the village was flooded in some areas, it was a good thing that it didn't rain when you guys were there. They also have their own cemetery on that floating village! isn't that interest? LOL "Young Skin"! I miss Thailand so much!! I think I should be coming this year! fingerscrossed!! Take care!

Thanks for watching! Their main source of income comes from fishing and then it's tourism. The locals there love visitors :)

Koh Tapu (JBI) is being destroyed by tourism. If you want to cruise past it in a boat fine but don't step foot on the island. You are contributing to it's death if you do.

Have spent a day on the island,Beautiful place,wonderful people.Easy to get lost in all the little alleys.Can vouch for that.Nearly missed my boat back to the mainland.The soccer story is amazing.You ca n find a small video on you tube about it.Regards from Australia,

We also loved walking down all the alleys and getting a feel for the local life there - laundry hanging outside, kids playing with each other, people detangling the fishing nets. Super interesting place :)
