+GHOST ARE REAL That's kind of my plan, too. I want to get a job during the Summer (I'm currently in Grade 10) and save up to buy a van of some sort, and then live off the grid and busk for my cash.

We do!! We are 49 & 51 years old. Just got our storage unit today to put our photos & things like that away to get our house ready to sell. No....we did not win the lottery. We will be slow traveling. Staying in one place for one month to one year at a time...working online, making KZfaq videos, etc. We will start full time in about a year. Need to get house ready to sell, have our son get his driver's license, finish up homeschooling, get braces off...then we are ready :) One is never too old to get started :) Melody

Some live off savings. Some "work camp"(There are videos on that), some work online, some slow travel....stay in one place for a month or so and work a job...bartending, or whatever it is they do. Many options. Lots of videos on this topic too on KZfaq. :) Great question.

My wife and I are currently in the midst of a long-term travel (2 years). We are driving from California to Panama. This trip was a goal of ours for 3 years. We are living off of our savings primarily. We also have the option of finding work along the way(something we have done before) as experienced massage therapist/ boat captain/service industry professionals. We have also started our own youtube channel and website. We are working at making that grow as a source of income so that we can continue traveling, but it is new to us, so we'll see how it goes.

Living Free Forever We are recording our entire trip. We should have a new episode out Wednesday. ...if we find internet Wednesday. It will be about the build of our camper, the videos start getting better with the next one. As far as your age you should not let that stop you. As a part of our project we started to interview other Overlanders and our most recent interview the couple was in their late 50's. Another couple you can check out their blog is The Next Big Adventure. I have not gotten to meet them yet, but I know they are older then your average Overlanders.

Beautiful job on the van. It looks showroom new on the outside. When I lived in Juneau in the 80's, people would sell me VWs for practically nothing. Got a '76 van for $25 that I drove for 2 years. Then the junkyard charged me $25 to haul it away. The Subaru engine swap is genius. Those suckers run forever. You're wise to travel while you're young. It really opened my eyes, even though I stayed just in the lower 48. Safe travels to you.

Here it is after years of testing this top oil that my mechanic uncle talked about for 40 years I have to confirm his findings with 2 test vehicles. That Subaru motor has a history of heating so let's do 5 things while we protect the engine and raise your HP and Torque. Go to any Walmart and buy 5 bottles of Marvel Mystery Oil which famous racers use to break in new motors. MMO....Marvel Mystery Oil is 5 chemicals and it is 5 bucks a bottle. Put 8 ozs in the crank case oil at oil change or NOW to start....put 4 )ZS in with every tank of gas. 1) Friction Reducer that improves lubrication and raises MPG and compression. 2) it removes and prevents sludge 3) it removes varnish protects diesel motors from rust which makes for oil burning......gas don't woorry. 4) removes any carbon in the engine so it is quiet and clean. The MPG alone will pay for the 5 bucks a bottle and the increase of HP will be noticed in the next weeks. Watch your gauges to see if the sensors show the change. GOOGLE MMO .
