Hello friends! Welcome to our 2nd day exploring beautiful Florence. Today we munch on some legendary sandwiches at Da Nerbone, gorge on traditional homestyle Tuscan fare at Sergio Gozzi and La Casalinga, bask at the magnificence of the Florence Cathedral and finally appreciate the golden hour views from Piazzale Michelangelo. I'm sure it'll be fun so let's get watching!
Enjoy!
Chapters
0:00 - Intro
0:20 - Da Nerbone at Mercato Centrale
Da Nerbone is one of the most legendary sandwich shops in Florence! Their specialty is a delicious tripe sandwich but there are other delicious sandwiches to choose from too. It's situated in the legendary Mercato Centrale which is an incredible market full of fresh produce, artisan goods and great places to eat.
4:22 - Florence Cathedral
The magnificent icon of Florence is the cathedral of and largest church in Florence. Consecrated in 1436, the church is highlighted by Brunelleschi's gigantic dome which is still the largest brick dome in the world. The Duomo is a must-visit when in Florence and you will definitely be awestruck when you see it.
6:24 - Trattoria Sergio Gozzi
Sergio Gozzia is an incredible local Tuscan restaurant next to the Basilica of San Lorenzo. We got some incredible dishes here including some iconic Tuscan Peposo, a Tortellini with a truffle and mushroom sauce, and an unexpectedly delicious Tripe Pasta! Definitely worth a visit if you're craving some great Tuscan home cooking.
9:44 - Sunset at Piazzale Michelangelo
This public park across the Arno River is a 30-40 minute walk from central Florence. This is one of the best places to catch a sunset in Florence because of its magnificent views of the city below and the Tuscan countryside. A highly recommended stop in your Florence journey to appreciate the city that you've been exploring from a higher vantage point.
11:29 - Trattoria La Casalinga
Another great Tuscan restaurant in the Oltrarno district of Florence, so if you find yourself hungry in the other side of the city then we highly recommend La Casalinga to sate your appetite. We got a good selection of Tuscan pastas and meats that we all found absolutely delicious! Great service, great atmosphere and great food, what more can you ask for!
17:18 - Gelateria La Carraia
Our favourite gelateria in the city by far. We had to come back for a cheeky post-dinner gelato treat as we just couldn't resist. This was our 2nd time visiting and definitely wasn't the last.

I really like the fact that you show close-ups of the food because a lot of vloggers don't. That's been one of my pet peeves about many channels. I think a lot of Americans think of Italian food as pizza, spaghetti, lasagna, and the other basic pasta dishes but there are so many other non-pasta dishes that come from various regions completely unique to those regions. Thank you for sharing your culinary experiences with us and educating people about the various foods.

Thank you! Yes I tried my hardest to research everything that wasn't the typical Italian foods that we think of. I learned quite a lot of the sheer variety Italian food has to offer and definitely so much more to discover!

Yes, jokin' with your name... exactly: italian food is more more more than the internationally known (spaghetti pasta pizza). It's a Tsunami of tastes!!! Every region (every countryside or little town or village) has its own speciality. I'm not so young (and Italian), but i discovered since now just a little part of this variety (and incredible world of 'biodifferences'). Thanks for appreciating.

I think the girl has a bias of not liking cold cuts because she was maybe used to the lower quality ones, but in Italy, the cold cuts are incredible, such high quality and on another level. I also was never a fan of cold cuts in my country but once I discovered Italy, my mind changed completely, they are cured for months and years sometimes making them perfect and delicate. I love Italy so much, I've been on road trips all over Italy many times with my car

I think my sister just hasn't been the fondest of cured meats in general 😅 On the other side, Italy has made me love cured meats and cold cuts even more 😁

I can't believe she prefers Nerbone ove antico vinaio wow! But for some reason men prefer antico vinaio more than women, its a very robust manly food, women tend to prefer more delicate food. But yea, antico vinaio is the ultimate sandwich, very cheap but high quality fresh ingredients. Its amazing

Ottimo il video, ma la carne si mangia con la forchetta anche per capire la consistenza e se contiene qualche ossicino.... il cucchiaio non permette questa sensibilità. non è un grande problema ma solo una utilità
