Florida arts groups left in the lurch by DeSantis' veto of state funding for theaters and museums

All over Florida, arts groups have been left scrambling to plug large budget gaps after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis this month unexpectedly vetoed $32 million in arts funding.
Advocates say the lack of state funding is going to devastate arts and culture in the Sunshine State.
Arts leaders across the state say it’s the first time they recall a governor eliminating all of their grant funding.
It comes at a time when arts organizations that survived closures from the COVID-19 pandemic are still recovering with smaller attendance and revenues.
A DeSantis spokeswoman says the governor makes veto decisions that are in the best interest of Florida citizens.

As a published poet and one who often searches for publication do you have any idea what it’s like to be bullied into pretending that one is at least “ queer at heart “ to be read?? ( true story) Bullies bullies, bullies who demand others to sit down and shut up so that theirs is the only voice heard because they claim they are a marginalized culture. If. They are so marginalized why two months dedicated to them?? Why so much past funding?? Why so much ENTITLEMENT? Please God. May more governors follow Gov Desantis example so as to provide the majority and true minorities ( yes I am a woman of color who is sick of the minority status appropriation the lgbtq population is performing) with the attention and relief from the oppression coming from those who CLAIM to be victims.. and yet.. are not.
