I read that Kirby smart played just about every single player on the team that wasn’t injured in this game. Everyone that traveled down with the team(besides the 2024 recruits and portal adds) got to play in this game. I was happy to see Jackson muschamp and Bennett get In and make a couple plays. Cash jones played hard when he was in. Even with the score as high as it was every player on field for Georgia played as hard as they could with the opportunity that was given to them. Go Dawgs!!

If you’ll recall, undefeated FSU absolutely quit on the field when Oregon got the upper hand on them in the very first year of the CFP - their culture is just poisoned - ZERO character - PERIOD

It’s also important to note that UGA was not TRYING to run the score up. UGA put their backups, 3rd, and even 4th stringers in after halftime. They were running basic offensive plays and concepts the entire 2nd half. FSU had no answer for basic football.

Lack of character is showing itself in college football as it has in most other arenas. As a player, one is either on the team or not. Yes, I understand and am aware of all of the issues and arguments to the contrary, however, one either has character or they don’t. As a coach, no non-team player would be standing on my sideline with my “team” players, risking their life and limb, while the non-team player(s) looked on pretending to be a team player. Otherwise, why play at all or why do or participate in anything with that kind of mental reservation or evasion?

Ohio State fans need to watch this video. This is the mentality that spawns from a culture if constantly crying foul and making excuses. The players hear this crap, and guess what. All of a sudden, failure is now an option. Quitting is now an option. All because the fanbase will make excuses for you. "They opted out. We got cheated. The game doesn't matter." There's no excuse for scoring only 3 points in your bowl game. That goes for Buckeyes and Seminoles alike.

Bowl season is dead. I barely watched mizzou’s bowl game and thats the team i root for. Thanks to the ncaa rushing in and not thinking about the unintended consequences of expansion and Nil. You guys handled this last month with class, leadership, and toughness. Ya know, how real men are supposed to act. Imo, Georgia was/is still the best team in the country, but you didn’t see 1/10 of the whining or complaining from their fan base that you saw from the Criminoles. The guys on the field for FSU played hard to whole game. They were getting smashed but they were still hustling. I have a lot of respect for those guys. I'm a Bama fan, been watching college football 40 years, and my personal opinion is Georgia is the best team in the country. I've said it in the past for my team when we didn't win the championship, but when you know you know, Georgia is the best team, they just lost at the wrong time to the wrong team. Seriously, if this was next years format, who would be the favored team to win the title?

Not sure I agree with your reason as to why FSU players opted out. They did not make the playoff and were totally pissed and simply didn't care about the Orange Bowl. Selfish? Yes. Embarrassing? Definitely. But to suggest a team that had won 19 in a row leading up to this game was afraid to play Georgia or anyone else is ridiculous. Georgia would have been favorite with both teams at full strength, but so what. It would not have been the first time FSU would have been underdogs. Even if Georgia went out and beat FSU by four touch downs, so what. Not nearly as bad as what we saw yesterday. The opt outs left because they are more concerned about their future NFL careers. Definitely a bad look. Something, IMHO, that has to be corrected, as Coach Smart mentioned. It's a college football problem, not just an FSU issue.

Just my opinion but the transfer portal and opt outs have severely hurt college football. High school recruits basically have to start at JUCO levels because these schools gotta snatch up transfers who don’t give a damn about the school instead of taking a HS kid and molding him into the program and will wanna play regardless of the meaning of the game.

I watched an Alabama fan (and former player) commenting about this "game". Of course he had the obvious trash talk towards FSU for thinking they were snubbed. But he made one VERY GOOD point that Uncle Lou also makes here . . . If you opted out on your teammates - the guys you practiced with all season, and the guys you worked so hard with, and the coaches who helped you make yourself a better player for the pros - then YOU did this beat down to your OWN TEAM. TWO teams played in this game and BOTH of them felt snubbed. But ONE of them responded the RIGHT way, and we saw how the other one responded. So did a BUNCH of high school recruits. P.S. TCU says, "Thank you, FSU!"

I have no dog in the hunt; I am a TN fan. But I am embarrassed by that performance from FSU. Frankly, FSU could not have handled the playoff snub any worse. Administrators, coaches. Players follow their lead. Georgia got snubbed, but they didn’t whine and make excuses. I commend the FSU players that did play. Too many of their “teammates” stood on the sideline and watched them get massacred. Pitiful. Absolutely pitiful. Instead of trying to prove that you belonged in the playoff by beating the two-time defending champions, they just laid down. What a horrible example for the kids who love FSU. Things don’t go the way you want or expect, just quit. Great life lessons for kids. FSU could not have screwed this up any worse if they tried. They blew any sympathy that people had for them after the snub by their reactions and actions afterward. As Uncle Lou said at the end of the video, DO BETTER. As I watched Jimmy Johnson get inducted in the Cowboy Ring of Honor yesterday I was moved when he told his former players that even though they thought he was an asshole and tyrant sometimes, they NEVER QUIT on him. Do you think those FSU kids would have quit on Jimmy Johnson? Hell no, but they quit on Mike Norvell and their school...and to me that is more of an indictment toward Mike Norvell...it was his job to motivate that team and he failed miserably. FSU is a complete disaster right now and I would not want my son to go play there. Uncle Lou, I think you are correct about the ramifications from that game will likely reverberate for years. It would have been better for FSU to opt out of the game completely then what happened yesterday.

Look, when the community voted them out of the playoffs because their QB broke his leg the other 29 players felt shafted and transferred out or opted out. The community did the exact same thing to UT last year because Hendon Hooker was lost for the season so you cannot blame the players for revolting it's a fixable problem that needs to happen next year!

You are absolutely right about portal/transfer players. You can't build your team with them. They are fine for a position of need, as long as they fit in your teams culture. Look , I am a Tennessee fan but major respect to Georgia. They came and played like this was a Natty, every player played their heart out from their starters to their last backups. That is called really good culture and Georgia is truly one of the 4 best teams in the country. Norvell needed to be humbled, that guy is arrogant. Ohio state showed up so called osu fan, they held ONE of the best SEC offenses for 3 quarters to 0 points only so much you can do, they held them to 14 points, the coaches for the offense didn’t get the 3rd string guy ready incase of injury. I think college football needs to adjust the calendar around the portal, NSD, and Bowl/playoff season to eliminate some of these opt outs. Instead of gift bags for bowls, just pay the players to play. These major sponsors have the money. Also, get rid of conference ties to specific bowl games.
