No. 3 Florida State recovered from a slow start, a comeback effort, and an injury scare to QB Jordan Travis to eke out the win in Chestnut Hill over Boston College, 31-29. Travis had 212 passing yards and 2 touchdowns in the win, and Johnny Wilson racked up 105 yards receiving for the Noles. The Eagles’ Thomas Castellanos was impressive in the start, with 305 yards and a touchdown through the air to go with 95 yards and a score on the ground.

Say what you want, Thomas Castellanos had more total yards in his own then the entire FSU offense. He’s only a sophomore, he should get better from here assuming he doesn't play reckless like running into 240 pound linebackers at full speed.

@@Tomfooleryjayhop off our qb not only did he put up stats at our highschool but he also did as a redshirt freshman at ucf he was already a prodigy coming out of highschool he has a bright future u loves playing qb other schools wanted him as a wr or a rb but he is a dual threat qb who can scramble and use his legs or throw the pall down field he is very versatile pretty sure the way he’s going he has a shot at the NFL it’s jus going to be a game changer because there stars, ranks, college stats and etc. doesn’t matter anymore it’s all about hard work, dedication, and skills and I’m pretty sure he’s down to put his all into it.

Offense was solid, defense was abysmal. Ugly W, but humbling. Think it’s good for us going into next weekend. Found a lot of opportunities to improve and I know these guys will!

Offense solid? Where was Coleman today? And the run game was not all that good. I think the #3 ranking got to our heads and the team was more focused on next week against Clemson. Either way, the inconsistency from the first two games to today was clear. It was the same thing last year when we lost 3 in a row. As Norvell has stated, we have to be consistent and we are not.

BC should've never never been this close. But if you've followed FSU long enough, you'd know that for some reason BC always seems to give FSU trouble no matter how good FSU is or how bad BC is. Hopefully it's the wake up game we needed.

I want to also credit BC Oline. That was the first thing I noticed! Our talented Defensive front was stonewalled for most of the game. Clean up the Penalties and I really think BC can make some noise in the ACC as their young QB gets more experience. Good oline,RBs,QB, and coach. Respect to the Red Bandana game!

@@djthabest123Our defense was miserable, they made them look good. DBs weren't doing their job, defensive play calling came from a toddler and with LBs shooting the wrong gaps. Receivers weren't getting open and Try Benson was running like a pu**y

I'm not hating. The NFL just isn't built for running quarterbacks. It's a stay in the pocket , make the proper read and get rid of the ball quick kind of league. And yes I'm aware of Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts. But they're 2 out of 32 teams. That's why I really like Jordan Travis. He could run up and down the field all day if he wanted but he'd rather stay in the pocket or use his feet to extend plays so his receivers can get open. Occasionally he'll take off but notice most of the time he runs perpendicular to the line of scrimmage and keeps his eyes down the field. That's what the league wants

I only turned on the game because my phone notified me about an upset alert, I only watched the series up until the DB committed the PI. I thought they were going to pull it off. That FSU d seemed to step up in crucial situations. This game proves that a great team can play bad too. I think Clemson will be the game.

Fsu Defense know BC got a running quarterback and almost literally back to back plays let him run for a ton, mike norvell calling a stupid end around on a 3rd and 1, and travis played really mellow today. 2020 Fsu flashback😭

FSU played absolutely horrid, what a lack of intensity for much of the game. BC played HARD and they can compete with anyone playing the way they did. I don’t really think there was a sense of urgency from FSU the entire game… that worries me. With that being said it’s still a Win! Huge game in Death Valley next week! GO NOLES!

Mike Norvell late game playcalling is horrible. Just like last year against LSU, running a toss play on the 1 yd line and fumbling. And many more games hes cost us or coming close to doing so.

Outside of Auburn BC was the only other team that challenged somewhat challenged that National Champion FSU team leading majority of the 1st half… so am I worried no but is it something’s that needs to be addressed in the locker room… ? Most definitely… gotta start better and stay consistent.

Im a FSU fan through and through but you gotta remain objective, it's definitely not a good look for the team today, the 2013 team blew everyone out and left no doubt. This team I thought was similar to that 2013 team but I was wrong, don't let your eyes deceive you and make excuses. Unless FSU blows out Clemson next week you better lower your expectations

Sorry to say but fsu isn’t who all their fans think they are. Today is a reminder, be thankful you were pushed along with penalties against the other team. I had one fsu fan try to tell me it was 31-10 at half time, because he knew i wasn’t watching the game. I went back and watched the condensed game and come to find out it was a close game at half time..actually 17-10. Lol i thought cowboy fans were delusional

This was about the worst we could play and still get the W. Defense sucked. Offense committed turnovers. Travis got hurt, Bethune got hurt, Bell got hurt. We better tighten up real quick or its gonna be bad things man. Bad things. Only other positive was Wilson had a nice game.

This game reminds me of FSU/NC State last year. That is some of the worst play calling by Novell ever. All those deep balls for no completions instead just going for first downs. Defense also had a terrible game. BC converted on every 3rd and long. Terrible execution the whole game. FSU is lucky to have a win.

We sucked today and it was unacceptable we can improve though in all areas. JT was ok but he needs to learn how to spread the ball around more and have trust with all his weapons. More immediate routes would help also. Both lines need to be more physical. Lbs played un-disciplined aside from Bethune, tackling was TERRIBLE, Rbs mid except for Hill, we need more 2 back set formations. Back end communication was bad, Cypress was lost in coverage, our Zone defense was not working at all, we need Dent and competent safety play bad!

BC's coaching absolutely sucks! How do you give up 19 penalties? Please FIRE HAFLEY! A close loss to a team that frankly played down to BC is NOT a "moral" victory. I did expect FSU to roll over BC but these penalties are such a killer. LOSING IS CONTAGIOUS and I knew they would lose even when they made it interesting.

Game 1: BC changes QB in the middle of the game, ultimately losing to Northern Illinois in OT. Game 2: BC beats Holy Cross (an FCS school that was BC’s rival) by 3 in a game that it arguably should have lost were it not for a single, late-game forced fumble. Game 3: BC loses by a mere 2 points against the #3 team in the country in a game it was nearly a 30-point underdog in. Will the real Boston College please stand up? Also, this is gonna be a crazy year all around in college football, isn’t it?

I’m convinced Boston colleges head coach wanted to loose this game. When they scored a touchdown to make it 31-22 why the heck would he go for 2? Absolutely not. Kick the extra point and keep your teams momentum. Then when it was still 31-22, he went for it on 4th and 1 deep in fsu territory. If he had just taken his 3 it still would’ve made it a 1 score game. It worked but if they didn’t get it, that would have been disgusting. I understand He’s playing to win. But there’s a line between being bold and being smart. I was just shocked. If they had taken the extra point to make it 31-23, THEN it would make sense to go for it on 4th and 1 deep in fsu territory. Don’t agree with his play calling this game and I believe it ultimately cost them the game.
