We share our hobby and passion about T1N Sprinters. We are keeping them running, converting them into campers, restoring them when they've been unloved or forgotten and helping you keep yours going too. We offer repair *advice*, pre-sale inspections and hands-on instruction showing you how to maintain your van when you visit us in Central Florida. We are not trained mechanics and we have no shop, but we know more about these vans than 99.9% of all mechanics because we are not bothered by any other vehicles. We've decked them out with solar powered air conditioning, fold-out bed from a pop-up camper, stealth a/c camping amenities and dozens useful of tricks specific to these aging vans. We also have a full catalog of repair videos that address the most common issues with Sprinters of this age.

Lubrication helps. Some of our door videos touch on aligning the lever to the lock mechanism and I think we have one installing aftermarket locks on a van that didn't have electric locks. Nothing specific on electric locks except adding an aftermarket fob.

Thank you for all the videos. Have some problem with the van, the starter doesnt engage its making a very loud grinding noise, no start, could this be relay or just starter ?

Sounds like a bad starter or flywheel. We don't see many bad starters and replacing the flywheel is a big job. Best advice would be to take the starter out and use your phone/camera to look at the teeth on the flywheel through the hole where the starter was. Hi there, from a former neighbor, I lived in your town for 14 yrs. Anyway, I experienced an odd thing today in my 06 Sprinter today. In fact almost didn't make it home. Loss of power even up small hills, smoked heavy. I have been having issues with it dying going in gear, also a few times it acted like it was trying to go into limp mode pulling away from a stop. I pulled the top cover and there is not sign of injector leak (black death). got any ideas for me. Bob

First get a compatible code reader. We have two linked on our products page at FloridaVanMan.com Next unplug the MAF and see if trouble goes away. The van should have less power with the MAF unplugged and may go into limp, but should not stall. If you notice improvement with MAF unplugged I would still wait for the code reader, buying parts only after confirming the codes are in the same system. We have a video discussing limp and many possible causes.

@@FloridaVanMan Got that code reader, The AP200, Which download is right??? Mecedes=Sprinter, or Dodge?? My Title says Dodge, VIN starts WD. ????, By the way , you all do a great job on your chanel.

@@boblewin8993 "Benz_Sprinter" If you download Mercedes or Dodge you will need to pay $20 for another "vehicle download" or call Autel to get it switched. We have a video on setting the meter up. Please watch that again so you skip the other common frustrations like trying to read or enter the VIN. Don't do that...

@@FloridaVanMan so if I could run something by you. The testing showed voltage too high, signal too high on the MAF. Also short in Ox censor. Cleared all codes and cleaned the MAF with cleaner for that. Test drove went well. Retuned home and new codes are the same 2 MAF Code. That's my problem, as I see it. Agree or not??? Since the Ox senser code has not come back, thoughts on replacement of it????? Also, I am running a K&N air filter, and wanted your input on them. There was something in one of your videos I thought you said something about it but not sure.
