The state of Florida housing sucks, homeless individuals have very limited options. The state needs to do more to address the problem, old businesses like hotels have closed so let's designate these as an option for a homeless housing. The state wants the homeless to stop camping in public places, I dare the State of Florida to address homeless housing, Corporations should help out, vacant property tax incentives and state funds, no need for a profit just a solution.

2025 new laws in the USA DeSantis already pushed the law to stop public homelessness or rather people sleeping in public places.....Sarasota has had that law for many years....if see one there you can report it, police take them off street...depends on where you live in Florida....West Palm Beach you will not see one

If the homeless had better options this wouldn't be happening. In Flinland, their homeless do not live on the streets. They have nearly solved the homeless problem with humane actions taken by local government. It's a program called Housing First. It is success! We need to learn from those in Finland.

The people who are stealing from cars are drug addicts, not just down on their luck homeless people. The only 'humane' way to deal with these people is to give them the drugs they cant afford w.o stealing from others. You cant force addicts to get clean, they have to choose that for themselves. Doubtful Finland has the drug problems on the scale that the US does, with a population that would fit inside New York City.

Finland has a population of 5.5 million Florida alone has a population of 22.6 million there's no comparison. There are programs that are housing first typically what happens is the people go back to the street on their own or where they are housed becomes a drug den and the place gets destroyed and fighting and general crime ends up happening that is sadly the typical outcome of that because many of these people do not know how to live properly so while it may sound great like yea everyone should have shelter but it's so much more complicated and needs to be a multi pronged approach like some of these people seriously can not take care of themselves and need to be in a facility.

Ive had to go in and clean them places up , several different places , mini skids , dump trailers , pick ups full size skids with mulcher heads , brushhogs . The police evict them for weeks before we start and stop in periodicly to check on our progress , they love seeing us clean it all up ..hate finding needles too ..
