There's also proof that dangerous animals such as gators, badgers, kommodo dragon's, lions, bears, snakes, or whatever else can become more comfortable with their owner/trainer after prolonged exposure. In a way they get more calm around certain people where they will still be completely tense with others. I didn't say it's a golden retriever. Just that he's calm around the guy that spends tons of time over a decade with him.

Nuisance gaters tend to, but not always, have better starting temperament than you would get by picking a random hatchling because the behavior pattern of begging for food etc self selects for animals that are naturally less nervous. It's a small difference, but if someone spends enough time working with problem animals of the food begging kind in a given species, eventually your going to hit on one that is noticably easier to work with. Not sure if that is what happened here, but I have run into that scenario with other wild animals a few times.

Agreed. A shame that channels like Discovery and History rely on fear and shock for views, which is ultimately putting both the animals and humans safeties at risk. Lots of great videos on youtube and instagram where experts teach and interact calmly and with respect.

I think the net being up is because Casper isn’t the only alligator in the pond. And the others don’t act like he does. They ain’t as trained as casper is. And like you said too some people would probably not act good and then boom they die because casper would attack

I would also guess the net is up for legal reasons. I once went somewhere were they let people pet an alligator. The guy mentioned that it was super tame and would not bite us but for legal reasons they had to put a band around his jaw.

Yeah the law is crazy. But you know accidents can happen. Like Chris said if he slips and falls in the water or one wrong move casper would eat him.

The Net is likely to prevent a few things, visitors hurting the alligator or agetating him, for example by stepping on its Tail by mistake wich would make him Attack in Self deffense, Its essentially a safety net to prevent human Incompetence🤣🤣🤣 oh and also prevent visitors from being eaten should something go wrong

@@Kvitravn. thats exactly what Chris has been saying all along. Casper doesn't think that way, he's shown how he tries to touch Caspers tongue and Casper tries to take his arm off. There's none of that eat him now be full for a day, don't eat him and be fed for a life time bud.. There is a video where Chris explained that he wears a diving suite because casper touched his chest and tried to eat him when he felt the soft flesh. And another time Casper didn't like the new camera and tried to eat him again. Think it was on instagram if I remember correctly, don't have the links unfortunately..
