Glad you have settled on what you want to stitch on and look forward to seeing your progress on your full coverage WIPS. Love them all, even alllllll that black lol. So exciting to get getting the Potoky floor stand, so crazy how much they go for, but such a great product. I would love the mini ❤ Enjoyed the stitchy chat.

My husband ordered the Potoky mini stand for me back in December 2020 for a Christmas gift and I still have not received it. I can hardly wait!

To avoid full coverage lines the stitches need to be feathered and not a hard line. Anytime stitching is vertical, horizontal or diagonal on evenweave or linen. This is regardless of tension. Reason: The last row any direction pulls together the last stitches. One way I help this is I go to the back where the "line" thread separation is and whip stitch down line. This helps draw the threads together making line less severe. Hope this helps. Robin Pollard

I am personally so glad you introduced me to formal "diagonal stitching". I think I had a tendency to do things on an angle from top left corner anyhow. I have noticed the odd line when I hold my work up to the light and it seemed to be from always parking and finishing within my diagonal. I now purposely angle my away "knot" threads by a few degrees and park either below or aside. Also with PK I don't stick as rigidly to the line as I do with my paper charts. It works amazing for some people and some patterns, not all. Hope you settle your teeth into something soon.

Karen..we arrived back in Illinois and I am using the Potoky stand for the first time this morning. I LOVE it!! Am using on a table but plan to try on my lap, too. I watched your video again to refresh how to use. My husband is a retired residential home builder and developer...he is very impressed with the workmanship and the shipping box! Thanks again for sharing!

That is awesome. My hubby said the same thing. He is a retired construction foreman and was really impressed. Thanks for sharing and happy stitching

Have you tried scroll rods on the Potoky? I use rods between 12" -1 4" . I would only buy it it fits on it.

How does doing diagonal affect confetti stitching as in your live stream you did all in one color so did you do those with on,y few stitches first? Now I am just learning so I’ve been doing all one color in a square. But I know filling in is hard when stitches all around
@NeedleBugg3 жыл бұрын
If i am in an area with lots of confetti i will switch to stitching row by row. In my live there were only 2 colors in that diagonal so i did each color separately. When i get to the areas that use lots of different colors i will stitch row by row stitch by stitch. Yes it is alot of needle threading. But the plus side is you don’t get lost as to where you are. And you alleviate those single stitches by stitching them as you go. If you watch some of my early videos i explain the row by row method

A novice question - when you say “move the needle along” are you leaving the tail short or long (the thread almost folded in half)?
@NeedleBugg3 жыл бұрын
I have a long tail on my thread and I gradually move the needle along that tail as my thread is worked.

Great video. Loved your new opening - your work is spectacular. I noticed your Nurge hoops were not covered in bias tape. Is it not necessary? I recently began using Hardwick Manor hoops and they strongly suggest it so I've done it. Would love to be able to skip it. I checked on some Nurge hoops while watching this FlossTube and found they offer 16 mm and 8 mm. I'm guessing you like the 16 mm? Thanks again for taking the time to make these videos.
@NeedleBugg3 жыл бұрын
I do not cover my Nurge hoops with bias tape. I feel it is not needed. have not had any problems with marks, crushed stitches, etc. Infact i like the Nurge hoops better than Hardwick Manor and they are less expensive

@@NeedleBugg thanks for letting me know. I will be ordering some Nurge hoops.

Karen, did you ever receive your Potoky floor stand? Just wondering what you think of it. Thank you for your videos. They’re a tremendous help for this newbie. Take care, Melissa
@NeedleBugg Жыл бұрын
Yes i did. It took a very long time but i finally got it. July of last year and yes i do really like it. Downside is it doesn’t hold a qsnap very well. So you can only really use hoops. I did have to send the clamp part back to have it upgraded as it got so loose I couldn’t stitch with it. They did fix it. Although that took almost 3 months even though i do like it if i hsd it to do over again i would not have gotten it. I would have investigated the Dubko stands further. Their sofa stand sounds quite interesting. I am so glad you are finding my videos helpful. Thank you for you interest.

What is the significance of stitching on a small cloth over 2? Why would I want to get smaller holes that are harder to see and do over two instead of larger fabric 1 over 1? Thanks Needlebugg!
@tallgrasslanestitches66353 жыл бұрын
It makes half and quarter stitches easier/simpler :)
@tntori50793 жыл бұрын
Oh - gosh that's so simple =)

It also makes the fabric that is visible much smoother. I find it more visual pleasing than Aida with the large holes and visible threads.

I am so excited after watching your video today as we winter in Florida but live in Illinois, and, I have the same Potoky stand waiting for me when we get back to Illinois in a couple of weeks! I am thrilled to know that you absolutely love the frame. I ordered mine last May and it was delivered the first week of March! As I was not sure where I would be I had it delivered to my neighbor. Thank you for sharing how it works and your review....I’ll have to think about the floor one. I do spend my children’s inheritance from time to time?..😊😊😉..Happy Stitching!

Have you also seen the Dubko factory stands?
@NeedleBugg3 жыл бұрын
yes I have seen the Dubko. The reason I chose the Potoky is for the way you get to the back of the work. Potoky is much easier to access the back and do what you need to do as it flips side to side rather than flipping up
@rungirl20089 ай бұрын
Hi! Is the Potoky stand still working well? I saw another video where the mechanism that allowed it to turn to the back was so loose, that the stand was unusable. How has it held up over time?
@NeedleBugg9 ай бұрын
To be honest I am not in love with the Potoky. The mini or the floor stand. Rather disappointed in both. I am seriously thinking of selling the mini table stand. And would even consider selling the floor stand if there was interest. I have a Dubko sofa stand due to arrive next week. And because they are more versatile am considering the Dubko table stand.

Karen why dont you try making fractal bookmarks? Xs-collectibles release monthly freebies and whenever I’m feeling bored with all my bug projects, i start doing a bookmark in hand, no hoop or qsnap needed, and I can store it in my bobbin box without it having a separate project bag and such

Nice to see you again ... have been subscribed (private setting) for years and look forward to getting the notifications. Maybe you need to look at GoldenKite ‘s website a bit...there are other excellent full coverage designers too but I am sure you know. Also, you could work the sampler with your name on silk gauze and fill in the background with stitches.

I have a Petoky floor stand for hoops, and a mini stand for travel I bought months later. Each only took about 1 month or so to come in. They are wonderful! I just can’t say enough good about them. I took 1 look at Luda’s and fell in love.

Glad to hear you love them both. Same here. When i saw Luda’s i knew i had to get one. She looks so comfy sitting there stitching. And the company has been great to work with. Mine has taken so long due to CoVid. They had to alter their schedule and production to follow safety measures for the virus. Totally understandable and I don’t mind waiting.
