Here you go! I made a tutorial on how to cover buttons using 28 count Evenweave and the smaller buttons with the lettering were done on 16 count Aida. I used Lori Holt stitch cards and her Vintage Christmas Sampler cross stitch pattern for my larger 1 1/2 inch buttons but they will fit on the 1 1//8 inch button also. I've listed below the links for the buttons I purchase from Amazon. I've also listed the link to the magnets if you want to make them into needle minders. Neodymium Magnets rare earth magnets 10x2 or 3mm or 12x2 or 3mm round. Make sure they are silver in color. Have fun making these adorable buttons, They make wonderful needle minders, and something fun to decorate with.

Lorene, you could also make your smaller boo boo ones into the little wooden hoops that they sell at Hobby Lobby. The ones that a lot of people have been making for floss ring bling ❤️🧵🪡

So happy to find your channel! Thanks for this tutorial. My sweet Mom made some years ago that I treasure. Never thought of turning them into needle minders! I might have to try a few myself❤️

Great how-to video. I attempted this by the seat of my pants with varying results that included some glue. The blue thing and the hammer in the last step is what I was missing!

Lorene will post a link but you need Neodymium Magnets rare earth magnets either 10x2 or 3 mm or 12x2 or 3 mm round, silver in color. You can get size 8 mm at Harbor freight but those will be too small for the 1.5 inch buttons....have fun

These are just as cute as can be ! Two questions please... What chart did you use for the letter and do you use one thread over one on the 28 count ? Thanks.
@sewonwednesday
@sewonwednesday 8 ай бұрын
One thread over one on the 28 count. The letters were from one of my cross stitch patterns. Not sure which one. I did the letters a while back. I do know I did them on 14 or 16 count aida 2 threads over 2. You can just play around with whatever lettering you may have and see if it will fit on either 1 1/2 or 1 1/8 button. :)

New subbie... awesome tutorial thank you so much for sharing. How do you turn these into needle minders?
@sewonwednesday
@sewonwednesday 8 ай бұрын
Hi there!! To make the buttons into needle minders is very easy to do. I use E 6000 glue to attached the magnet to the back of the button. Let it dry for 24 hours. Before glueing the magnet down, make sure to press the shank down so it will be flat enough for the magnet to laid down evenly.
