Dave F There were TOO many bands back then. It was easy to get lost in the shuffle. Kinghorse self titled LP from 1990 was another would be popular album. Check out that band they were ahead of their time.

Was a huge fan when this came out,still one my favs,so excited for Metallica when jason joined,but they handcuffed him,then went soft..glad to see flotsam still kicking ass,cant say the same for princess James and crew....altgh once again their bass player is best player in band,

@@raskullsshako The story goes... They asked him to finish their tour, after Burton died. Following that, Hetfield had asked him to come in and do some session work for Justice, because they still didn't have a bass. Somewhere along the line, Newted got the idea he was *in* Metallica. He got in an argument with the guys from F&J and allegedy said some stuff he couldn't take back; stuff about how they were jealous because they never really made it and they should be happy that he got the band he deserved, kind of stuff. So Hetfield, who was still a wreck, felt sorry for him and just basically started feeding him like a stray cat. How accurate and true all that is, who knows, but, one thing is certain and that's nobody but Hetfield liked him, or wanted him there. Theres lots and lots of stories about him being a self-important, whiny turd. But, the bottom line is, hes a mediocre bass player, a sub par musician and never was able to adapt to being in a different band; kept trying to shoehorn F&J into Metallica. So, there was a lot of friction over that. The breakup was a classic 'You can't fire me, because I quit' deal. Seeing his behavior since, Im inclined to believe that account is more accurate, than not, because he has spent the entire time, crying about how he was robbed. He and Megadave should get together. They can swap stories about how much their ex sucks.

@@raskullsshako That's correct. James was so insecure about Jason doing projects outside of Metallica that he threatened to "fire" him over it. Jason wisely took the high road and split. He ended up playing with far better bands such as Ozzy and VoiVod, so he got the last laugh.

Man, as a self proclaimed long time freak from the 80's I was surprised to learn newstead was behind this.. it wasn't on the radio.. I heard it one time live back in the DFW area in the late 80's early 90's . Along with nuclear assault and dead horse .. epic tines for sure.

When Ciff Burton wss killed and played Metallica and took calls all night. I think the guys or someone from Anthrax called in. Unreal the music they turned me onto. Up until then Ozzy was it. When Newsted became the new bassist of Metallica, I was telling everyone about his band from that show. I gained metal cred from the older guys for knowing who he was. @@TronciMcause he was a legit great drummer from 1986-1993/94 got lazy and laid back from 2003-2013/14,couldn’t keep tempo,stopped double bass completely misses a bunch of important drum parts like in the intro to am I evil causing James to laugh, only to bring it back up fully in the last few years.
