I was wondering if one could just use 8-peak beaks as a constant control and if I can select them in the same way for normalization as you described for your control cells.

From my understanding, the reference control for normalization is meant to standardize variations in stain intensities that are patient dependent. An 8 peak bead would not account for this (but can be used to help standardize voltage settings to maintain MFI)
