I have done sparring with Lil cuban boxers of 13 to 17 years old when I was a kid also ,and they show at that age tremendous boxing defensive skills .If cuban boxers have the opportunity of become professionals easily we might see boxing with other mentality . For example Mario Kindelan ,Roberto Balado Mendez and now a lot of people are impressed with Rigondeaux skills but there were others great cuban champs.

All boxers who fight for the cuban national team have to comply with the regulations of the cuban boxing federation which is in essence qualified as amateur as it responds to the regulations of the AIBA. There is no professional boxing in Cuba at all, as the government and the sports regulation institution known as INDER prohibits such type of practice. That is why you see no pro cuban boxer fighting out of the island. Best regards.

Scoring for this fight sucked both this fighters landed a lot more shots and weren't counted. I feel like it could of gone either way and mayweather got knockdown in this fight by a right hook and they didn't give him a count weird.

Bad scoring Mayweather never got one point for all those hard punches to the body. As long as this scoring system stays in Olympic boxing the US will never be a force.. Hate it the 92' team had some very good boxers like Eric Griffin, Raul Marquez and Vernon Forrest who had a very hard time adjusting to this crappy system.
