Floyd Rose designed this bridge for Gibson guitars that have necks that sit high in the neck pocket, meaning the finger board sits high above the body. Guitars that have necks including Gibsons that have the fingerboard sit close to the body, you can't get a playable action low enough because the bridge hits the body and thus routing is required. So that is one design flaw of the bridge. The other is that it uses the tailpiece studs to mount. Gibson and others do not use a Standard distance for this, and this leads to being unable to properly innotate the bridge if the tail pieces studs are too close or too far back. I installed this bridge on my 2024 Gibson flying V. The neck sat high enough above the body so no routing. But the tailpiece studs were too far forward, and I couldn't not innotate the low E and G sting as the Floyd saddles could not be moved further back. So, I had to relocate the tailpiece studs buy filling and drill new ones. Gibson guitars are all over the place spec wise based on year and era. So this bridge may fit perfect with no mods on some guitars, and on others need massive modifications.
