Fluff made a bit of a mistake here. But there is a happy ending to this story and that deserves to be noted + I think it serves as a good reminder to audiences to not get involved. :)

Coming from someone who has been on both sides of it, I think your message is really important. I still get death threats (regarding the 'fake guitar' stuff that happened back in 2019) from fans of certain artists even though those artists and myself are much closer friends now than we ever had been before all that went down. Also seeing how easy it is to (subtly or blatantly) lead fans in whichever direction you want them to go, there needs to be a level of responsibility and understanding from creators. It could literally be the difference of life and death. It's very easy to join into the emotional mob, and when creators know this and use it for financial or personal gain, it can be very scary.

Nicely presented KDH and nicely handled by Fluff in the end. Jared. As one of the Dons of the community, it’s cool you thought, drew the parallels and posted that comment. The challenge of modern platforms providing mass interaction is that humour or flame pieces or even mistakes can go sideways quickly. In a club, you do comedy and if it goes flat you get heckled or ignored. You go to work, make a mistake and probably get called on it to re-assess. Sadly online pile-ons can and do happen with unpleasant consequences.

I'm happy to see you be so up-front and honest about the whole thing, I have to admit I had a bit of a discoloured look towards you especially after your accusations towards Lucas Mann in particular, but that was a very knee jerk reaction that honestly didn't last very long. I'm happy to see now that you've learned from it all and that you're aware of the mistake that can be made by talking openly about certain topics with a large fanbase surrounding you. Keep up the good work man. \m/

Yep. It’s amusing to watch the evolution of morality amongst guitarists on KZfaq. What was once an immediate bludgeon is now seen as an act of immorality. Back in the day when I had a channel and was just starting to gain traction, I got the pleasure of being targeted. It destroyed my channel, and it ended there. No one cared. It is what it is, but I’m sure I wasn’t alone. I’m glad things are turning around.

I was thinking similarly...but then I went through the logistics. I've been collecting gear and practicing guitar my whole life, and put all my energy into making music. Songs, albums, collabs...some good; some not so good...but in either quality I see very little appreciation. So, being a youtube morality policeman for musicians may serve the greater good. ...Unfortunately; I still want my main message for humanity to be at least musical, and more optimally, an artistic message. Now, I bought the Relish Mary One from his videos. Purchased it on Reverb from him and it arrived well packed and in great condition, BUUUUUT... "Fluff" said clearly and unambiguously that the listing was bogus. This created the situation where the seller was harassed by "Fluff's" fanboys. Instead of knocking down the harassment, Fluff then endorsed it.. He 100% owed the seller an apology, and the seller was _FAR_ more reserved in answering the accusations in his ad update than I would have been. The seller did _not_ owe Fluff an apology. Fluff was lucky he wasn't hit with a defamation lawsuit.

Death to all marxists I don’t mean if you’re buying it from a store because that’s obviously the retail price so yeah you pay the shipping, that’s business and they gotta make money. I mean like that guy selling the Dave Mustaine guitars for like 5x the price he bought them for. If you’re already making £10,000 profit charging shipping is just a dick move.

Your videos are well thought out and through and they impress me because you firmly point the blame where it belongs....at those taking advantage of others, needlessly and without conscience. I had my disappointments with Fluff and ultimately skipped him a couple of years ago. I fell into the trap of getting some of the total crap he promoted, worst of all his then signature pickups that were so amazing that he would never remove them his guitar! Well, literally they were far worse than even the stock pickups in a $300 Ibanez. Soggy, boomy and the low B string hardly 50% output of the other strings. I couldn't return them. But the final blow came when he was complaining about something in his DAW, and I mentioned that he wouldn't have such problems in Reaper. He replied with an angry, demeaning comment about Reaper being a barely functional piece of crap way below his standards. I guess I could have returned with evidence of some of the heavy weight professionals coming from other DAW's and never looking back, but this wasn't even the first time something like this happened, and the way he was talking to me for absolutely no reason at all, just turned me off enough that I never watched a video of his again. Honestly, why would I? He is obviously not credible in anything he says about gear, he just creates drama when it's not about pushing gear, downright demeaning if it's about gear he is not endorsed by, and he's a rather mediocre player and demo'er anyway. This is my personal opinion and I never said this anywhere else, I just thought it was a good opportunity, especially seeing how hard of a time he had to apologize the nonsense drama he stirred up himself with his "Dunning-Kruger" level wits!

I am on Linux, and use the FOSS Ardour DAW, and all FOSS plugins, and there is no sound quality advantage to any of DAW, and almost every single hardware interface out there uses the exact same sound conversion and processing chips! There's just way too much hype, because no amount of capable gear can make up for your hearing and understanding in musical and audio terms of how to get sounds, mix and what not. You could use any DAW and get the very same sound and mix as any other, with only a few differences in how you got there, making what you hear the most important, so good speakers, and their placement, good headphones, and proper room treatment for both where you record and where you mix. I like Glenn Fricker (SMG) for that reason, he concentrates more on techniques than gear alone, without being a snob, and instead of selling people a superiority complex, tries to fit your budget without putting people down; Well not the ones who don't deserve it, and for the ones that do, it's a blast, but nor vengeful! @@Rose.Of.Hizaki For me it wasn’t a matter of backing down or giving in really. It was the prevailing recommendation from my lawyers at the time to take a hiatus from content creation. The risk to reward ratio was too heavily skewed in the danger department as some of the doxing and threats where fairly serious. I also held a top secret security clearance at the time within the US government and it was putting my occupation at risk. People with significant following, don’t really understand that there are people out there completely out of touch with reality. They are called to extreme actions that most of us wouldn’t even consider. If a person has a million followers, chances are good that thousands of them are willing to hunt down and do terrible things to someone. Very well said. Yes that was an incredibly important message. Reminds me of that whole Rob Chapman thing and how severely it hurt all parties involved. And the Jared Dines thing. Sometimes as viewers, especially during a global pandemic, when everybody is bored and looking for drama (Why I’ve stayed off my channel for this past year) we go above and beyond in the WORST ways for the channels we watch and the KZfaq’s we enjoy. And sometimes we speak before we think. Which is generally a bad idea in almost all area’s of life. But on the internet, it’s way too easy to hide behind our screens. I’ve been the victim of online bullying and harassment. Many times over. Often due to lack of information regarding whatever the situation was at the time. So again, this was a VERY important message. And I hope it gets to the right people. We need to be better to each other. It’s a sensitive and scary time. Thinking about your own actions and not going out of your way to hurt or damage someone, or their reputation for the hell of it, Is a good way to simply just be decent. And apply that to everyday life.
