I must make a correction about the working light. When you plug it in you can clearly see the bulb is on throught the clear plastic at the end. Sorry Fluval!

I haven't ever used anything like this, looks really interesting and I will say that the bulb did look pretty cool when you pulled it out! ✨️ very nice, Daniel 🙂👍

It's been a long time since I used UVC lamps, the last ones I used were with neon and quartz bulbs. This is very compact and easy to assemble even for external filters or even to combine with those who have a sump. Great review Daniel! Happy Sunday

Nice product! I use a 13 watt UV similar to this one in the Uaru tank, I run it for only one day directly after each water change to kill anything that might be in the city water.

Nice one mate, love fluvial products, been waiting for this to fit my FX4.... Also regarding you saying you can't see if the bulb is on, the clear pice you took off to see the bulb, that lights up... You can just see it on the box...👍

Thanks Mark. Yeah I have it set up now so I have seen it. Will be putting out an installation guide later and have corrected that in the video. Yeah I agree. You know you are getting quality when you're getting a Fluval product hey.

I really like that and it’s a great idea how it can be used on other filters as I don’t have the fluval filter on my Oscar tank so would be great for that tank

I know right? The inter-usable element between the Fluval equipment and other brands is a big score for me. Opens up some options.

Amazing unboxing video Daniel, this certainly does look like a meaningful piece of equipment mate, and I'm sure it will do a great job 😊, I must admit I do like how small and compact it is. I'm sure there will be an indicator to let you know when it's on mate , can't wait to see the setting up video mate , keep up the good work my master!!!!! Hahaha lord Daniel 😊. The nice thing about inline products like this, or a CO2 reactor, is that even if you upgrade to a better filter or a sump, you can still hook them up. I do wonder how long the bulbs last, when i had a UVC filter on my turtle pond i was replacing the bulb every other month.

True mate. Not sure about the bulb life time but might make a difference if on a pond and outside maybe? I've used a few of these, different brands and generally the bulbs have been pretty solid on my tanks but time will tell I guess hey.

Here a question if u read this would inline uv be just as effective on intake of canister

I don't think I'd recommend it as the water will have far more waste in it so I would imagine it would reduce the effectiveness and I'm not sure how good it would be for the bulb either.

The problem with making outputs smaller is back pressure on filters pump, it can cause it to break. Main problem with uv is ppl want fast flow and thats no good for the uv, it needs time to kill bacteria and algae spores yet ppl buy filter with flow thats too fast foe it to work.

I'm not so sure about that. I mean being able to use the smaller pipes is for filters that they are designed for in which case you're not really reducing flow at all. If you're running it with an FX filter (in which case you wouldn't employ the adapters anyway) we may wish to reduce the flow a while but since the FX connections allow for that I'm sure Fluval considered it carefully at the planning stage and stress tested before lunch. Any evidence of reducing flow breaking filters that I've heard has been purely anecdotal, I've never seen it. I'm not arguing with you or saying it never happens but I've never actually encountered it and even if there are rare occasions I would wonder if there weren't more contributing factors involved.
