Completely agree, gone thru this, too. The first clue didn't hold it and the background poped up after filling.... same procedure again.

Dear Daniel: What you have there is Sturisoma guentheri, not Farlowella acus, commonly known as a "twig" or "whiptail catfish." A Farlowella acus can be acquired, for around $10.00. A Sturisoma guentheri runs about $60.00. For me, a Sturisoma guentheri would not be desirable, as it destroys plant leaves. But, I’m pleased to see that you got one. I’m sure you will give it the best of care. Thank you, for sharing this interesting and informative, species profile. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar

I have one housed with more territorial bristlenoses. They're not much larger so it's holding it's own when they get boisterous during feeding time. I worry more about that trailing fin ray, so I don't house it with large enough cichlids to just chomp on those features.

Thank you. No it's the 450 I have. What you would do is measure the distance between your light fittings and get the one that most closely matches without being too long.

Very nice! I have a 450 ltr community tank with a few cherries, as well as a 40 ltr shrimp tank. One day after I had fed the fish I noticed some shrimp were feeding on the Aqua care soft colour granules, so I decided to try a few in my shrimp tank. They absolutely love them. Sometimes I feed the shrimp an inch of banana on the end of a stainless steel teaspoon, nettle leaves blanched and cooled, and also frozen bloodworm thawed in tank water. All are devoured with relish!
@DanielKeepingFish7 күн бұрын
Yeah they're pretty good fun hey. There's such a range of food you can offer them and ways of presenting it to them. One of my favourites is Rapashy food dipped in a stick to make shrimp lollipops.
