Hi Kris and Kim, Two observations; always surprising how fast the gear cycles compared to any other make of aircraft, and great call on the go-round when caught by that cross wind. Spent Christmas several years ago at Gaylord and had a great time pre-mask days. Hope you enjoyed the trip, looked like a good time. Inlaws were retired at Hermitage and tried to talk my wife into flying into Lebanon but she liked the drive too much.

I went to military school in Lebanon about 40 years ago and watched several of my friends take flight instruction there at that little airport. The locals call it Leb-a-nen and not Leb-a-non. It’s amazing how much the place has grown and changed in the intervening years. Of course Nashville has exploded too. It always had a good nightlife with the Opry and Broadway but now it’s turned into a regular tourist trap.

Flying from Craig airport over the Dames Point Bridge and Jax International sure brought back a lot of memories of when I used to live in Jacksonville. Craig airport is where I took my flight lessons way back in 1998. Enjoyed the video!

Yes - stiff cross wind - not too far from the Beechcraft Heritage Museum (closed till Jan 21). I loved seeing the stagger wings etc back in the 70's. I need to go back and see what they have added since then. Take care - be safe. 'Spin'

@@BaronPilot you certainly achieved that with me, I’ve just renewed my PPL & I REALLY a want to get into twins. Also I was just watching a very old vid of yours, it’s amazing the improvements that you’ve made to that great Baron, the instrument panel is totally unrecognisable from what it was. So glad u got rid of that ugly bit of wood on ur panel. Also not sure if Kim gets ur jokes such as the cats in the cradle, I’ve noticed this in a few vids. Either she don’t get it or she doesn’t appreciate ur great sense of humour 😀

Kim; Is there any way we can get down to 8,000’? ATC: Pulling the power back and pushing the nose over usually does it. Love your videos. Wish I could get my copilot to handle the comms.

@@williamoddo9199my advice to her is starting with level flight and announcing tail and altitude. 2 things to call out and doesn’t change constantly. She can always write down word for word what she’s going to say too, that helped me a bunch. Once she gets a couple of calls down it will raise her confidence. Good luck!

Kim is nailing the radio comm! I wanted a Cirrus but after watching your channel for a while, I want a BE55. Ran the numbers and the twin makes more sense. Extra engine but no chute to maintain. Maybe you could share your operating cost in a video. Did you consider going into JWN? Thanks Chris!

Maybe you've covered this and I didn't see it, What are the little HUD looking things on your glare shield. I saw one said its angle of attack gauge but I am unfamiliar with whatever those particular style of gauges are. Where can I learn more about them? I know what an AOA is but I have never seen any instrument that looked like the form factor you have. very unique.

Hey Kris, Great call on the go around, the guys practicing in the pattern didn't do you any favors making you change your approach from straight in to mid-field fly over at the last minute. That cross wind didn't help either, probably causing the over shoot on final, but you made the correct choice to go around. The second approach was "a little sporty" as well thanks to the crosswind. Great flying. And speaking of Great, Kim is getting Great on the comms.

You almost got to the point you could correctly pronounce “Lebnan !” I can’t tell you about all the fun places to eat and things to do in Middle Tennessee if y’all remain blacked out on FlightAware! Did you meet the great Heather Bay, airport manager at Lebanon? We base our (air conditioned) A36 20 miles south at KMBT. Safe travels!

Excellent call on the go around... Really, you had no other choice did you? Man that cross wind was brutal... Kim is getting SO good with both the Comms and the avionics. She's LIGHT years ahead of where she was when she started and man-o-man will she have a major leg up when she starts her real training.. 'Sporty landing' for sure but you handled it like the pro you are.. I love the 'pucker factor' comment when the bird flew by.... Serious pucker factor.... Too bad those birds don't come equipped with ADSB eh?

@@BaronPilot Just would have been better if you could have enjoyed the local area more. We moved here 5 years ago from near DC and really love all the area has to offer. Sunday is supposed to be beautiful if you are still in town. Broad St. is a great downtown walk with interesting little shops and great places to eat. Have fun and stay safe in the air. Those were both shitty approaches, I would’ve still gone around on the second one. You were high and fast on both battling gusts, all you needed was a shift to a tailwind and you probably would’ve gone off the runway on the second one. Little scary man.
