Flew the D-ABYT last year in Upper Deck business class, which was also quite an experience... but First Class is still something different ;)

Long Live the 747

There’s two features about sitting inside the 747‘s nose that no other aircraft can offer you: 1. The fuselage is angled, so from seats 1A and 1K, you get the feeling of looking forward. 2. You are actually sitting in front of the pilots!

I would like to see more flight reviews. I really liked your editing, having a more upbeat feeling than most flight reviewers. One thing I always am most interested in from trip reports is the unusual flights or lesser seen seating like LH 747-8 first class.

Coby is "The Dude"; good video. The seat does look a little below par compared to alternative modern day offerings but you're right; it's about the all round inflight experience....that's something everyone imagines when one conjures thoughts of travelling first-class.

I Havent Experience B747-8 Jet,But Hav Alot On B747-400 Whit KLM And Some Few Whit Qantas.Great Trip Report

Very nice and there is another operator out of the West Coast towards Asia that has the same plane Korean Air via Seoul Incheon. Here in the east coast the same plane you fly runs the 6:10 p.m. departure from Newark to Frankfurt Germany LH403. If you have to choose between these two B747-830 LH or UA B777-322er which one would you would you pick overall?

I'm looking forward to flying a B747-8 first class from Frankfurt to Seoul in July.

I might have actually been in the airport at the time of the recorded video. It says 2 weeks ago, and 2 weeks ago I was in the airport waiting for lufthansa flight on premium economy to delhi. It was also a 747.

How to have the longest flight (afaik) in lufthansa's repertoire in first class for about 2000EUR: Buy the Bundle&Go Miles package, currently 150000miles for 1750EUR, and book Buenos Aires to Frankfurt with an inner-german connection flight as much after touchdown as possible(to maximise your stay in first class terminal in frankfurt), for about 1350000miles + about 150eur in fees, equals roughly 1750 total and you still have 15000 miles left on your miles and more account. 🙂 @Coby Explanes: Nice review, thank you! As I rarely get to fly the 747 but the one time in the last 20 years I flew United First there was practically no where to put my carryon. It was infuriating that unlike business it had to be stored over another passenger. I did not see you show anything about that so I wonder what storage there was for your carryon?

I have only one hour layover. Do I have enough time to go to the lounge?

I have been on the YT as well in FC to MIA. As a German I have an emotional tie to LH. But compared to other FCs it is way behind especially on entertainment and catering. Big plus is the FCT, Even better than EK

Considering the poor reputation that Lufthansa have for those turning right this particular first class experience looks as good as some of the middle Eastern carriers, it shows that Lufthansa are still able to provide a superior product and once the new fist class cabins are fitted they could offer the best FC product within Europe.

Like the video. I flew the 747 and was on the upper deck. IT WAS AWESOME, even when the flight attendant spilled champagne on me. And no I wasn't acting like a jerk..HAHAHAHA

I don't think people who make these KZfaq flight reviews consider the affect on other passengers. I was sat behind you on this flight from Frankfurt to Houston on 25/8. Your constant loud monologue to camera and finger clicking throughout the flight was incredibly irritating. Even the flight crew told you to stop filming in the end. May be in future F reviews you should cover the affect people like yourself have on cabin ambience.

As a crew member, I disagree with you about turbulence. The reason why 1st class is at the front of the plane is due to the comfort when the plane hits turbulence. At the back of the plane, the cabin will shake violently while the front of the plane is less shaky. At landing, the passengers at the front of the plane will experience a smooth ride while the passengers at the back will feel the "bump" when the plane hits the ground. Next time choose the last row of seats on the plane to find out how bad you feel during turbulence.

Ignoring any service, I don't like this "first class." To me, it looks more like a business class - and even in a modern business class, I like to have more privacy!

Hate to tell you, but any regular business class has 'dine on demand' All you have to do is ASK. In fact, it is even said in the menus provided of all the business class flights I have taken.

One of the best things about flying KLM... They explicitly say.... NO VIDEOING ON THE AIRCRAFT

As someone who only flies Business or better on long hauls... People that leave their window shades open just to make videos are the most hated on an aircraft. Worse than crying babies. People WANT window shades DOWN. Do you think that middle aisle people want shades open? NO THEY DO NOT. NO ONE enjoys someone shooting content. You are up and around making content is an incredible disturbance. When I see someone llke you on an aircraft, I tell a flight attendant and they are instantly... shut down. BE AWARE THAT PEOPLE HATE YOU FOR FILMING ON AN AIRCRAFT.

It was not that long of a flight. I just wear a pair of comfortable jeans when I fly 15 hours to Tokyo. But, you had to use a disposable pair of pajamas... for an 8 hour flight? That seems like such a waste.
