Flying a helicopter in the arctic (unedited)(with commentary)

9 ай бұрынToday we are servicing two drill rigs in the arctic circle of Canada with a bell 407. I have a camera with audio recording inside the cockpit, and a GoPro MAX on the end of the longline 100ft below the Helicopter.
Nothing too exciting or crazy happens. I just decided to hit record and upload raw footage of whatever happens on this day without editing out all the many times I usually make mistakes while slinging gear. it's just raw footage of me slinging in the arctic.

Amazing video! But I dont understand why they dont just drive the materials to the drills?

Some things are moved by road if there is a road there. Some other things require the Helicopter to put the material in place

Much of the Arctic is devoid of Roads. Helicopters are the best tool for the job.

Even if there's a road, time is money. You wonder how Christmas tree growers can make money slinging trees by helicopter between points 1000 yds apart for loading. Work out the numbers, and it comes down to few bucks per tree, and maybe a day's work saved.
