This was easily the most scenic trip of our coast-to-coast trek (so far). We departed Aurora, Oregon to fly passed Mt. Hood, then Mt. Adams, Rainier, then St. Helens. After the volcanoes, we flew toward the Pacific and enjoyed the cliffs from the air. What a flight!

These views are nothing less than spiritual. I visited Seattle 21 years ago as a child, a local familymember drove me around SEATAC airport perimeter, behind one area near some very tall trees, I could clearly see MT Rainier. It looked like it was about 5 miles away... NOT 65, the way this mountain tricks the mind is breathtaking!

Anytime I see such beautiful and pristine country such as this, I like to think of those men and women who first explored this country. They had nothing but what they could carry on horseback or on their backs. What you could call putting everything on the line. Those people deserve all the respect anyone could muster. Thank you for the beautiful video.

I've been to Mt Rainier several times. Its the most beautiful part of the country. Its hard to capture the natural beauty of this place in a photo, but Josh does a pretty good job in this video. Thank you Josh for reminding me how much I love this area. "The Mountains are calling and I must go" - John Muir

I have been flying the northwest for over 40 years (lived in both Portland and Seattle areas).; and have followed your channel since you started it (love it). As a northwest native, I will say that you missed equally as amazing sight as the mountains . Many would say the San Juan Islands are more beautiful than the Cascade range. If you have not flown to or over the San Juans , you must put that on your "to do list".

I’m a geologist who grew up in Seattle and cut his geological teeth on the Cascade volcanoes and Columbia Plateau volcanics. Camped at MSH before it was famous then happened to be flying into Seattle on May 18th, 1980-still have the slides I took that day. This was such a special episode. It’s possible I shed some happy tears.

The Mooney has always been one of my very favorite piston aircraft. A seldom mentioned thing is the TBM line of turbo prop planes started life as a Mooney 301 in development. The design was eventually sold to Socata design in France, and redesigned for the P&W PT6 engine. It is made by the Daher company in Tarbes France, and that is how it got it's name. Tarbes - Mooney, or TBM. Another great airplane!! Sorry if I rambled on... JMHO 8) --gary

I'm a little late watching, but at 3:40 ish during the exchange with ATC on your route, y'all made the comment saying that a VFR flight plan could help out ATC. That's a common misconception. VFR plans are purely for FSS. Air Traffic facilities don't get that information. Approach will have to type out your route into the flight data system regardless. But of course, still a good idea to file :) Great videos Josh!
