If I had to make a list of my top 3 favourite cities in the world, i wouldn’t hesitate to tell you that Cape Town is definitely on it! On this flight I took Maurits and my parents on a journey around the Cape Peninsula, a rocky promontory that plays a key roll in the history of the city.
South Africa is a beautiful country that I am so grateful to experience from both the ground as well as from the sky.
This was a flight that I’ll never forget, and luckily the footage almost does it justice.

Enjoyed the views, born and bred in Cape Town, did my national service in Simonstown, so I know False Bay quite well but left in 1974. Have never been back, but still miss it. Do all my flying in Australia now .

Got back from JNB last week. Having flown 1115 nautical miles around South Africa… Grand Central to Dundi Lodge (near Upington), Madikwe East and then a farmers strip near Vaalwater and back to Grand Central! A 5 day C182 trip! All thanks to you and your videos that INSPIRED ME! Thank you 😊❤️

My great-great grandmother was born and raised in Cape Town, in the Bo-Kaap. I've wanted to go and visit there for a long time. This was an awesome video and it's made me want to go visit there even more!

Flying in bare feet! That's more African than Dutch haha. I still remember my Oma being horrified when I went to the shops in bare feet in Apeldoorn, and some of her friends told her. I grew up in Zimbabwe and spent as much of my childhood in bare feet as I could.

In Hawaii, barefoot is normal for kids. Grew up bare feet for years only time required to wear shoes was in school. Other than that bare foot all the time. But now most people use some kind of slippers or flip flops.

Haha I'm laughing so hard right now! I just went to the supermarket here in Utrecht (NL) on my bare feet and got some funny stares... Then I remembered it's not as accepted here as it is in SA hahahaa

My Mother came from SA but I have never been there but maybe some day..............! A Great flight you had there. As for the 172 I remember having an engine out at San Jose Dos Campus in Brazil in one. Sure made for good gliding practice. Regards, Jim in NI UK

My Dad flew there back in the 50's, Navigator on RAF Shackeltons. He even got a helicopter ride up to Table Top Mountain. There's old super 8 footage of them skimming the ground at bush level somewhere. He said South Africans were very friendly. It's great to see it in this 21st Century way. Thanks for sharing/uploading

Great video & excellent content! Did you know that ZS-SCE suffered extensive fire damage to its engine compartment in April this year, while on the apron at Wonderboom, during startup. No one was injured. Keep up the great channel!

Ahh we flew over the Drakensbergen and landed near Amphitheatre. Unforutantely it was a "no film" flight, but it was spectacular. Will be sure to film it next time!!

@@PilotBambi I'm doing my first proper flying lesson tomorrow after having flown 3 and half hours on a Cessna 152 with my greatuncle, who's a flight instructor at Midden-Zeeland. Those weren't really flying lessons but I did most of if not all the flying. So now, after getting a Class 2 medical, I'll be flying a Tecnam P92E for the upcoming months.
