I really understand the struggle at the question on electric motors for aircrafts. The problem is not the electric motors per se, they can be made light and powerful enough. The problem with electric aircraft was, is and will be (for quite some time) the energy-density of the batteries. Tho it has to be said LSA/micro/(insert local aviation legislation equivalent term here...) is currently the the best suited type of aircraft on which it can be performed (due to pesky physics like volume, and thus weight, going up by object size CUBED). In the closer future, the best choice going forward for UL/LSA/Micro and smaller GA for that matter, is piston engines running on Jet-A/B/JP-8 ( thus diesel engines) which also is the most sought after here in Europe (the amounts of TEL in AVGAS is a concern, and the cost of AVGAS is very high compared to Jet-A). Well unless gas-turbine engines are allowed in GA and lower weight and licence-classes.

My father on a safari in Botswana 1974 was very lucky to meet 3 Bushmen. They noticed his cigarettes and wanted to trade.So they gave him a bow with arrows for it. 4 pack’s we’re gone in like 15 minutes 😂 They had never smoked until that moment 😂 This story is still told on birthdays and special family moments after he sadly past away. I remember my 1st solo 20 years ago. I felt your enthusiasm while watching this video and was smiling right along with you because it's exactly how I felt. "Millions" of light-duty engines for "recreational vehicles" none of which have ever been registered "motor vehicles" for use on "public roads" at "highway speeds" with passengers. Experimental aircraft are no different than "snow machines" or "personal watercraft" or ATVs or UTVs and are "titled" and "registered" only in jurisdictions that require it for "public safety". And even when "street legal" they are not DOT-approved for "highway use". There isn't an engine manufacturer in "America" today that has not produced "millions of engines" and for applications a HELL of a lot more demanding of engine DURABILITY (which is NOT synonymous with "reliable" and "reliable" is a subjective term not "defined" or "standardized" in or by any "engine industry") than the "toys" Rotax has "historically" powered with it's "drop-in" basic engine "packages" that are for "recreational uae" only.
