2 жыл бұрын[4K] FLYING FISH at Thorpe Park, join us on this family coaster as we get 4 laps aboard this fish themed coaster, ideal for younger thrill seekers and adults.
Flying Fish is a powered steel roller coaster, designed by Blauer Enzian and manufactured by Mack Rides. It is located in the Amity area of Thorpe Park and opened on the 10th March 2007.
Flying Fish began life as Space Station Zero which opened in 1984 and was an indoor coaster. It was moved outdoors in 1990 to make way for Carousel Kingdom and renamed the Flying Fish until 2005. It was then removed to make way for the construction of Stealth. It was reinstalled in 2007 and given a new colour scheme, lap bar restraints and on ride photo.
The ride is around 230 metres long, stands 6 meters tall and reaches speeds up to 17mph (27kph).
Guests must be a minimum of 0.9m to ride Flying Fish and over 1.1m to ride unaccompanied by an adult aged 16+.
Thorpe Park is operated and owned by Merlin Entertainments and includes rides, a themed hotel, live events and Stealth, the UK's fastest rollercoaster.
After demolition of the Thorpe Park Estate in the 1930s, the site became a gravel pit managed by Ready Mix Concrete (RMC). When the pits were expended, RMC regenerated the site for leisure, opening Thorpe Park as an outdoor activity park in 1979. It has since grown into one of the major theme parks in the UK.
Major attractions include a large water ride Tidal Wave, a number of rollercoasters including Colossus, Nemesis Inferno, Stealth, Saw - The Ride, The Swarm, The Walking Dead: The Ride and Flying Fish. Other smaller attractions include a water area called Amity Beach and an Angry Birds themed land. It also has on-site accommodation, the Thorpe Shark Cabins.
The latest attraction is Black Mirror which opened in May 2021 although High Striker is set to open, possibly for the opening weekend, and a new Project is currently being built which if approved will feature the tallest coaster in the United Kingdom.

Whenever I go on this for fun there isn’t any little kids on it, it’s mostly adults screaming their heads off like their about to die😂😂😂😂

For those that hate thrill rides and the big coasters, I guess this is the next best thing to go on at Thorpe Park. It is a great coaster for us as we have young kids that can't go on the big rides and the queues are usually a lot shorter

It's a great coaster for going hands up, we like this one, could do with a bit more theming but it usually has smaller queues than the bigger coasters so worth a ride.

Went on space station zero when I was 8 or 9 and was absolutely terrified! It was way different in the dark!

i still remember the ride as it was then, the car was slightly angled, and I sat at the front, looking down the tunnel. I had sight then and I think it was my first real roller coaster that wasn't exclusively for children. i remember the countdown, and then we were off, I think it was a twisting, turning track with ups and downs and random coloured lights, you got two runs round, though the run into the station before the second trip round was made different by the lights turning red in the station if I remember rightly. though that might be slightly wrong, it was over thirty years ago. maybe the red lights came on just before the train took off for the first time. I don't know if the second run round was faster than the first.

It's the same coaster black, they just moved it outside and changed the car uppers obviously 😉 I rode Space Station Zero in 1985 & '86. Loved it and the kid in me wants to ride it again for old times sake 😂

i went to a school trip to thorpe park and im not even lying i chickened out on flying fish because my fear of coasters killed me. Went on storm surge, rumba rapids and the big slide ride near the beach

@@PlanItPark i felt like it was going to flip over but it nearly did just remember Thorpe Park doesn't open rides that are dangerous because its against the law, so in every ride u will not be harmed if u just follow the rules and good day to u too! ♥

Bro, lucky, I went to some science museum where we couldn’t even take pictures of anything, I forgot everything by the end of the day and the Rubik’s cube I bought for ten quid fell apart in my hands less than half an hour later. Absolute scam.

thinking back when i went to thorpe park in 2013 i really should have gone on this, I didn't know then what i know now about the ride named Flying fish. it sounded so shite, but i remember the old space station zero, as i said in a prev post.

It was yes, it was known as Space Station Zero originally and was removed to make way for Stealth. It then reopened in Amity as Flying Fish

Yeah, it's more for kids really with a 0.9m height restrictions, about a 3year old. Usually there are shorter queues as well compared to the bigger coasters
