My first ever flight was with Malaslysian airlines from Colombo to Melbourne via KL on a 747. It was 2007 and I can remember they were amazing.

I still remember my first ever Malaysia Airlines Flight. It was in October 2014, just in this critical year for Malaysia Airlines from Frankfurt to Kuala Lumpur on their 777. Our flight should have arrived around midnight, with the next day beeing my birthday, in KL. However before takeoff in Frankfurt we taxied back to a remote stand as there was a technichal issue with a broken standbye device. We had to wait there for almost 6 hours and were very worried the flight would be canceled as it took so long to replace the device. The crew however handled the situation incredebly well. They were coming around chatting with the passengers and just creating an overall friendly and hospitable athmosphere. Noone was angry or mad. They even organized a catering truck to get the passengers snacks as we were on the ground. Every half an hour they would come around and serve beverages to everyone. After we took off almost 6 hours late we faced some heavy turbulence which scared a woman sitting two rows in front of me. As soon as possible 4 or 5 crew members appeared to calm her down. They were so caring and one flight attentend stayed with her for half an hour, it was heart warming. When chatting with the crew on the ground in Frankfurt I told them, that it would be my birthday tommorow, that I planed to spend in Kuala Lumpur. At midnight german time they came around concratulating me and brought me some kind of sweet pastry from bussiness class as a birthday cake. It was wonderfull. After landing at around 6 am in the morning everyone left the flight happy and with a smile on their face. Those crew members really were heros. Malaysia Airlines will allways have a special place in my heart.

Glad to hear that. My son attending a boarding school in Langkawi and always took Malaysia Airlines from KUL - LGK & vice versa. Never had bad experiences with them. The other two carrier? Always expect retime/reschedule or even flight cancelation.

I have been a world traveler for almost 45 years. My. teaching job in New York eneabled me to travel a few times every year. I am thankful to have extensive engagement with the cultures of the world. My first trip out of the Philippines was with MAS that left such indelible impression about such perfect service rendered by MAS staff. Even long after this experience the exquisite meal I tasted in that flight is still imprinted in my mind. I wish MAS success in its operation in the years ahead.

Eco friendly could mean the packaging or material is easily degradable or made from recycled material, or just plain green washing.

I use to fly often with Malaysia Arline and I do think the crew was always wonderful and working hard ! Unfortunately the tragic events and as you said some management problem it effect the Arline and of course the crew and everyone working for the Arline! I hope all will be good for Malaysia 🇲🇾 Arline

I was lucky enough to have sat on MH 380 due to aircraft change. The best is their a330 fleet especially the crown seat in Biz.

Hi Josh, If I may speculate as to why MH served beverages after the meal during your first flight, it may be related to a habit of mine and other Asians of consuming the meal before drinking any complementary beverages. I find that our food usually does not require something to drink to help break down the food; as it can be consumed without much difficulty. And I do find it strange when my foreign friends drink their barley drink or soy drink while eating their Char Kwey Teow. I would almost never do that and only drink after the meal is finished. Save travels, and best regards.

Josh, great work and it’s clear you put loads of effort to review fairly and as well as possible the airlines you fly on. I suggest to take an A350 ITA airways since there aren’t many reviews and it would be greatly appreciated!

That’s a good because at least it’s helping the airline come back to where it once was, unlike sam chui who’s videos at this point are just basically 26 minute ads for airlines instead of actual genuine honest reviews that’s why I sort of stopped watching his vids since they got boring after some time, and plus he’s sort of show off these days even though he’s nice, even my Nigerian friend agrees with me that his vids are just 30 minute ads and he agrees with me that he’s become sort of a show off.

I do like 2-4-2 configuration of the A330. Probably the best of the widebody sector. Also the 2-3-2 of the Boeing 767.

For me, as a frequent flyer passenger of Malaysia Airlines i think there a lot of improvement and very excellent airlines ever. Cabin crew are superb amazing.

The Quarterpounder does exist in Europe. In Germany it is called a „Royal Käse“. It’s exactly the same thing!

The new CEO has been doing a fantastic job with the company. MAS is expected to turn profit this year for the first time since like forever. I am glad they are repairing the damages they had done to u. Malaysians need to improve a lot on their services. The service industries in Malaysia are kinda low class compared to many parts of the world. What is encouraging though is that I have seen quite a lot of improvements lately. Companies need to train their staff a lot more.

flew with them in a a330-300 about a month back and had a very pleasant flight. not quite as good as qatar after it but still very very good. even in economy class the food was delicious and the choice of beverages was also amazing.

I'm flying to Australia next year starting in London with them with a week stop in Malaysia is a business class worth it

It is always good to do surprise reviews, it can only help airlines who really want to improve and to regain like Malaysian Airlines the quality service they were once known for. I personally flew them before the two accidents. I found their service amazing compared to PIA and some European airlines.

Thanks for the video. I have flown MAS many times, London - KL. I hope your friend doesn't keep looking at her phone while she is flying, take-off and landings, like she is while driving. When you try and get an upgrade, it is always full. Small point, the i at the end of suvarnabhumi, is silent. My wife flew London to Bangkok, June 22nd 2022, ie last week and all passengers had to wear a mask for the whole 13+ hour trip.

Love your work Josh! Heads up, it’s not just your Malaysian fans who are gonna give you crap for eating at McDonalds in KL - I was like whaaaaat??🤣🤣. Really??! Happy for MH👍 Being an AvGeek, I choose the most circuitous routes/as many connections possible when I fly from the US (and never have had a bag delayed, knock on wood), so have flown their product many times, and have never had a bad flight. Love the MH First lounge at KLI 1 satellite terminal. Also the most interesting airside transit hotel I’ve experienced….not fancy like SIN Changi, but it had windows in the room (unlike Changi) that basically look into the cockpits…I almost felt creepy staring into the cockpit/watching the pilots of a KLM flight preparing for departure.

Malaysian here, I hope that Malaysian Airline will keep improving😅, also thank you for giving them a chance again.

Flew Malaysian Airlines few days ago. Business Class , KL to Phuket. 737 - 800. Seats look very tired but Service quite good, only 1hr 30 flight. No food choice, chicken satay, take it or leave it

Not sure about their a380 tbh, see rumors said they will active in sky again due to Hajj and umrah flight demand, and company called "Andalusia travel" is well known for their amazing reputation in travelling, they used to charter those a380 for umrah and Hajj demand, due to pandemic, a380 service stopped too, just hoping they will return back to the Malaysian sky
