@@mattylp8I used to be an attorney for the FAA in OK City and have dealt with pilots doing illegal acts all the time and just like you said "permission" that's all they (FAA) needs. When he first left, the keys were in it, then when he came back, the keys were not in it, then they magically appeared in the slot again. It's all so cool, when I was flying my Quicksilver ultralight, I used to land in a couple parking lots, get a couple grocery items, or a chicken sandwich. My favorite part was always the looks on people's faces, and their body language when they saw my airplane land, sit there empty, and then me take off. A special treat when everybody else is doing the exact same things driving their vehicles into parking spots, and here is this guy doing it with his airplane! (I always landed & took off in an empty part of the parking lot, well away from any people or vehicles, safety first, then joy & fun.

Nope you can land on public property as long as it’s a safe landing and it’s not within 200 feet of a building

St Peters isn't exactly a 'small town' lol. The entire area is pretty built up along I-70 and I-64 all the way from St Louis out past Wentzville.

@@pwehDuraSaFace I get what you're saying, but It's REALLY not like that at all here. For that you need to go a bit northwest or southwest - There is very little undeveloped land in this area, relatively speaking. It's built up a LOT since I moved here almost 25 years ago. Where I grew up used to be much more like what you describe.

7-12 hours is average to learn how to hover one. It’s just practice. They’re expensive though; three times the price of fixed wing training for that R22.

Do you need to get clearance to land here? This looks similar to a field that I used to first learn how to fly my FPV drone, I can imagine a freak accident would be totally plausible in a similar scenario. I use LAANC, do you have to use anything?
