Flying Scotsman was commissioned by the London North Eastern Railway (LNER) on 24 February 1923 and will be 100 years old in 2023. On 14 September 2023 it was travelling with the luxury train "Northern Belle" on its former regular route, the East Coast Main Line, from York to Edinburgh. Two days later we see the steam locomotive at the Strathspey Railway in Boat of Garten.
