Today we're flying upside down! At EAA AirVenture 2023, I had the opportunity to fly with airshow pilot, aerobatic champion and Red Bull air racer ‪@mikegoulian‬ in an Extra 330LX. We took off out of Oshkosh and had some fun with lazy eights, rolls, loops, and a hammerhead! Thank you so much to Mike for having me along and for being a fantastic instructor!

I've done aerobatic flights in AT-6/SNJs (WW2 advanced trainers), and I will readily admit I was a bit 'green-in-the-gills' after the first few negative G maneuvers..

Michael is such a genuine guy. Have had the opportunity to meet up with him and his staff over at the Whelen booth. Even became friends with Emily over the years when she was still on Michael's team.

That plane was so smooth. My dad was an aerobatics pilot in the early 1940's in the Pacific theater usually with a Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" either in front or behind him.

Mike is seriously one of the greatest human beings- I remember first meeting him at an airshow in MA way back in probably the late 90s when he was flying for Toyota and he was the only solo pilot at that airshow to take the time to talk with me, explain something I asked about his plane and sign a picture. forever a fan =)

I had a similar experience in 1975; flew to Oshkosh in a 1947 Luscombe and got an aerobatic flight in a new Great Lakes 2T-1A with company demo pilot Dwain Trenton (he also did an amazing routine during the afternoon airshow). Unforgettable. Nice job with the Lazy 8's!

Really enjoyed the video. Mike is always a joy to watch-one of my favorite performers. You;re right about the A30s. I’ve used the A20s for years thinking it couldn’t get any better. Then I got the A30 and they are really amazing.

Great video! Your pilot reminds me a little of Steve Perry of Journey. Looks like much fun. Having been a Radio Op in the Air Force and talking with pilots in the air while in Tampa, FL., I enjoy watching you all doing what we could only imagine doing…FLYING. Thanks for the video. The most fun and terror was doing aerobatics + and- Gs. In an OPEN COCKPIT biplane. Looking up at the ground with only my harness keeping me in was terror!

Mike is great guy and a helava aerobatic pilot. We have a mutual friend and I've hung out with him a few times practicing acro and I've flown an Extra 300. It is very sensitive. You think where you want to go and it goes. There is nothing like it.

Great video. It reminds me of my first time in an airplane. I worked at a TV station in San Antonio and our main anchor was also a stunt pilot and he had a Pitts Biplane. He took me up and we did maneuvers for about 45 minutes. He let me fly a lot and do several stunts myself. It was an unforgettable experience and so much fun. I was amazed how sensitive the controls were. It was hard for me to keep it level at first. Definitely took some getting used to. I wish I could go do that again.

Very cool! Brings back memories for me, I used to take aerobatic lessons in Mike's Extra 300L at Brookhaven Airport on Long Island. Actually "commuted" there in a flying club Debonair from Westchester county airport. Acro is such a blast and the Extra 300 is an amazing machine, really feels like telepathy how sensitive the controls are.

I agree that this was a cool deal, however it’s basically a commercial for the new Bose headsets. That’s why it’s out of order from her Oshkosh flying videos. I’m sure Bose wanted this video released before Christmas.

Awesome--great edit! My first taste of aerobatics was in a Stearman towing a sailplane. When he released, we started a barrel roll to the right but stayed inverted. At 13 years old, I was grabbing anything I could to keep me in the cockpit!
