"Disappearing of the Sun" is one of two anti-nuclear songs from Quebec band FM-109's self-titled LP. Written by members Nicole Rouleau and Andre Michaud, the song deals with the other potential climate catastrophe facing humanity: nuclear winter.
Lyrics:
"It was over midnight and below zero
I ran to may place and saw on the wall
"Room to let",
So i ran through the
Door just to see my room was empty,
It wasn't my room anymore.
What happened i remember i thought
And who's living here now did i shout
I think the sun is gonna disappear
I think the sun is gonna disappear
In a kind of a nightmare, panicked
I hurry in the street which i didn't
Recognize, nor the street, nor the sky
Which was kind of green and got me blind
Blinded i walk my hands before me
Touching a lot of burning bodies
Hearing all those bodies screaming
Hell must be down here, so all the
World was flushed down…
I think the sun is gonna disappear
I think the sun is gonna disappear
I awake on a hill with millions people
Trying to get the ash out of our eyes
To see over our heads a little blemish sun
Getting smaller and smaller and smaller
Getting away from us, getting away from us
Now we're gonna die and
Nobody needs no room anymore
The sun has disappeared and i
Began to freeze to death
To death"
