Low Power FM transmitters often have a really bad antenna so to boost your FM signal this antenna can work nicely. It is completely portable and is also made completely from junk bits. So no expensive parts. The antenna makes it very easy to set up your FM transmitter anywhere anytime. It can work from the roof of a car or a metal surface but don't drive around with this on your car roof as it may blow off.

Low Power FM transmitter antennas that are portable and mobile are not very common so I decided to build one from scrap parts. Disclaimer: This is a fun learning experiment and in no way suggests that you should try this. This video is for information, entertainment and learning only. This project should not be attempted if you do not have the skills and knowledge on how to use broadcast equipment and safely use tools such as a soldering iron. Anything in this project that you attempt is at your own risk. Make sure you understand and abide by the broadcast laws of your country.

Very nice and original idea of the monopole magnet Antenna! I also did a project as i could not afford a real FM radio processor with at least two or three separated audio bands,so to reduce the pumping effect of processing the audio all in one channel. I decided to use the most inexpensive method, using a cheap crossover that splits into 2 bands in stereo or three bands in mono. Because i transmit in mono for it gives me more advantages in reach, cleaner signal ect, and uses less bandwidth that also allows me to pump up the volume more maintaining the spectral bandwidth limitation. I connected the crossover in mono mode to a Behringer MDX 2600 two channel stereo processor .One channel processing the mids,the other channel the highs(treble ) and the third bass channels to a DBX 286s that has a nice density and bass control on it to give it extra kick! making the sound more punchy! Then i connected the three separate audio outputs to a very cheap three channel mixer that has a mono switch for mono output and the mixer allows me to control the three separate audio channels volume or density in the final stage before going to my 15 watt transmitter. I was blown away at how good it sounded and how much louder compared to most commercial station! No noticeable pumping on music ect Recently i have added a sonic exiter to give the audio a warmer and enhance harmonic sound to it- I finally have my own sound that makes it different from the rest. I also use a SDR radio to monitor the signal so i dont splash outside the bandwidth. Thankyou so much for these amazing videos you have.

Hey your project sounds very cool. Yeah I have experimented for years trying to produce that big radio sound without a professional audio processor. It's great fun trying different ideas. Your idea sound like a great project. I want to do more building projects for this channel in future. I enjoy the theory videos but building things can be a lot of fun. Thanks for your comment. Glad you like the video :)

I really hate how something so simple, can also be so complicated with so many variables.

Yeah the idea really is to be able to either find similar parts or try to come up with other solutions for parts you do find. But the principal is easy enough. It can be tricky though to get it to work in the exact same way. Cheers.

@@inspiresoundpro a set up like this is no issue for me to grasp. Its more of wrapping my head around the whys of different ideal set ups in various settings. Am, fm, 50Mhz, 144. Bread board prototypes to finished projects. Through a car, on the work bench, huge radio stations, rf key fobs, and my current bain; trying to get a transmitter built that is simple enough for my niece to use and get a hang of, while its still usable and fun, without breaking any laws. Lol. 20 sum years ago i was building my own rc equipment and rf “bugs.” But i have to admit, to fully design and build a system with my own knowledge has been a task.

Nice. Yeah I have also dabbled for years in a lot of frequencies like 27Mhz etc. I have been thinking of adding projects here for those but I'm not sure if it's the same audience. But yeah great that you showing your kids. These days kids just know social media LOL. Good that learn other things.

Can I use speaker coper cable to connect the antenna???
@inspiresoundpro
@inspiresoundpro 8 ай бұрын
No. You must use coaxial cable. Speaker cable will leak signal and make a mismatch between the antenna and transmitter. Must be 50 Ohm coaxial cable.

Hello sir please give me a suggestion. I have a 7 watt transmitter and it has a stock 50 ohm telescopic antenna. Now my question is.. Can I use my transmitter for 2-3 hours continuously with that antenna? Someone told that if I use telescopic ( stock antenna) my transmitter will burn within 30 minutes.😢 Is it true? Please reply..

we can play all radio channel through internet then why we need to make an antenna?
@inspiresoundpro
@inspiresoundpro 7 ай бұрын
You don't need to build an antenna. Antennas are for transmitting and receiving radio signals. If you are happy with online radio that's great.
