Great video. I've got one of these xbows but haven't had a chance to properly use it. I look forward to seeing your next tests on it. Keep up the good work. CHEF UK 🇬🇧

Good test, Lewis. Even with no penetration at all, the energy transfer would knock the wind out of your man, and as you said, a heavier bolt with a different head... nice one.

Being made from overlapping metal plates, force is effectively distributed over the whole front or rear of the vest. Even an equivalent "soft" stab vest would absorb and dissipate these bolt's energy quite well. Mass x Velocity gives you the momentum, and in this case, the number would be pretty small. You'd feel it, but it wouldn't knock the wind out of you.

@@another3997 120lb compound bow wouldn’t knock the wind out of you ? It wouldn’t need to because it’d be stuck in you easily and put you down

Hell yeah brother good video! I'm planning to get this FMA pistol crossbow but my favorite pistol crossbow will be always the Armex Tron, Just compact and fun to shoot.

That vest looks suspiciously like one of the cheap Chinese ones usually found on Ebay for around £20, in which case it's not really representative of a run of the mill stab vest. Still, wearing it would probably reduce the severity of a wound even if a knife or bolt did penetrate. A new, semi decent stab vest will set you back around £200 or more, and will usually have been tested up to UK Home Office (or the US NIJ) rating for stab protection and possibly spike protection. I'm fairly sure that crossbow bolts fit in to the latter category. 😉

Looks like a level 1 vest but my guillotine x and equinox Excalibur would easily penetrate a level 3 vest at 70 meters

@@inkman6964 A level 3 ballistic vest? Yes. A genuine, certified stab vest, perhaps. A stab and SPIKE resistant vest? Less likely. But no armour is proof against every possible threat.

Just got this, literally takes 5mins to set up, only need to attach the two handles and you're ready to go, outstanding piece of kit, the ease to cock such a powerful bow, and powerful it is, i would never go back to traditional styles, not with this new technology, well worth the money, i didn't buy it for hunting but after some test shots, i'm pretty sure it would get the job done, as for the stab vests, can stick a knife through some, so i could see a heavy grain bolt penetrating

Ignore me calling it the FME supersonic through the video! Meant to say FMA. I'm surprised at how well the standard target tips on the Supersonics bolts did. I'm thinking some Hunting bolts would be even better

Hey mate. I cant make my mind up between the fma supersonic or the cobra r9. Wasn't sure if the r9 90lbs would have been powerful enough. And from what ive seen on KZfaq, the r9 works better with the 110 limb over the 130 rx limb. What would you recommend. Cheers
@roguesheep1747 Жыл бұрын
Do they make a repeater magazines for the fma ? I got the cobra rx9 repeater the trigger mechanism failed exploded on my 205th-shot-ish ,and there is no easy fix solution so im going to buy the rev FMA instead. I'm raging because they had just released the Venom 190lb to 210lb litter farm . Great wee video m8

Great tests mate, enjoyed this, as you say i suspect a heaver bolt or different tip (if possible) would get through that armour - what was it the metal plated stuff i have too? Nice to see the bolts held up too after hitting a hard surface like that, the adder bolts mess up in a soft target, lol
@MilitaryHistory20112 жыл бұрын
It's Thin layered steel with some fabric woven in between and then a sponge pad on the back. Surprised such a lightweight bolt managed to get through when it had all that fabric slowing it down.
@cobracommander40172 жыл бұрын
And think Andy can turn that contraption into a repeater that cranks with only 40lbs of efforts. It's practically the analog to a firearm from what I'm seeing. But you get to keep your hearing and lose the muzzle flash.
@cobracommander40172 жыл бұрын
Try using a bodkin or narrow broadhead on the bolts and watch that beast come alive. I would think 400 to 500 grain bolts would match will.

it more depends on size and weight they basically produce around the same punch just one is really bulky and the others not also you have to hand reload

Slightly heavier bolts with bodkin tips even at the draw weight that it is will definitely do damage to anyone wearing one of these. And not to mention the high powered crossbows like the Ravin R500 or Ten point Seige just to name a few. The Cobra adder definitely will get through that and yet it uses a 130 pound draw weight using only a recurve. But the Cobra Seige which does 300+ ft per second using a 150LB compound arms while using 15.5 inch bolt with steel bodkin tips would definitely kill

if you use a aluminium arrow shaft more poundage will be behind the arrow as it leaves the crossbow, it have deeper penetration

theHunter call of the wild That game get the weapon pack dlc with crossbow and you'll love it If you love crossbow but can't use it much. Like most I bet. But that game is like a sim for the mechanics the bolts fly true to life. Set zero lineup the centre dot that's zero and go. Use top dot for closer shots and lower dot for longer. People get confused with the dots thinking top dot is zero but the middle one is. 600gr bolts goes through most animals you get the xray view harvest screen all of its organs lit up. I've never had such a good target shooting game Any backyard shooter will love it. No clock no competition just you the weapon and the animals. Bows. Crossbows. Revolvers and rifles. Perfect physics. Wind and elevation matters with the bows. Bullet drop is minimal since 400m is about as far as you can render anything. I made a 240m crossbow insta kill double lung shot. Nobody not even dd33 has me beat on that. I was aiming at the clouds lol.
