Nice video! Great content overall - useful information for the vast majority of people. I just want to add that this kind of video had became quite common and blend in the FM community in the most recent years without any kind of innovation. I can admit that the speech slightly evolved and ideas as Head of youth development preferred playing style got being discussed and it broke into the meta, however I honestly believe that there might be other variables that can be relevant to pulling better players into the youth intake. Since FM21 I've been playing around with head of youth development reputation and in my experience it seems to have a higher impact over their own attributes. Another aspect that seems interesting to me was when I started focusing on building the best possible scouting knowledge (not only having a big team of scouts but also making sure that I assigned them all over the world) I noticed players from many different regions started popping up in my youth intakes, and this is not related to affiliated as players being recruited from those countries that I have good knowledge of. If you think about applications of this in real life it kinda makes sense. There are clubs with an insane youth academy level however they will never bring into their academies players from specific countries (ex. You don't have German wonderkids in Spanish teams). On the other side, there are teams with less strong academies that have a really good knowledge of very specific regions which seems to give them an edge of pulling often good players from those nationalities - think for example of nordsjælland in the recent years. This seems worth bringing to light in the community and being tested. Hopefully you find something positive in my contribution.

In my Atletico Balaeres save I started in the 3rd tier with no money so relied on youngsters and had a CB come through in season 2 who was 5ft 7, but had pace and could cross a ball so I’m currently training him to be a RB

Hi, Jake. Nice video. In my saves, I normally work with large rosters in all squads, with plenty of friendly matches during the whole season. One of the things I normally do with versatile players in playing them in their natural positions in official matches and in other positions in which they feel confortable playing on friendlies. In Reserves and uXX teams it really helps player development.

The most important thing is rate of a nation U play in. We all know Brazil, Argentina, French, Spain, Italy etc produce a loads of wonderkids cause they have high rate of producing wonderkids. In Fm 2022 I played club named Wieczysta Kraków. U need to download lower league pack if U want to play this club cause it is 4 lvl in Poland. And during 25 seasones I became the best club in the world. I managed to win Champions League 8 times in a row! and despite this my academy were producing wonderkids with potential ability around 140-160 max. My country, Poland, has low rating so during this 25 years I found only one player from Poland who had 197 PA and I bought him from Legia Warsaw cause Legia and Lech has the best academys in Poland. And, of course I do not have to explain that during this succesfull career I had enough money to develop the best academy possible in the game. And still no one over 170 PA from my academy. Maybe if I would play another 25 FM years I would get real wonderkid. I do not know this. But from my experience If U want to produce Messis regulary U cant play a club from low rating Nation. I play this game since Championship Manager Italia '93 year by year and still I use some of your tips. Good Job FM SCOUT band!!! I get that its unrealistic to expect a constant flow of wonderkids, but the amount of effort and redundant actions required to maintain a youth setup just isnt worth it even with a strong team in a strong nation. SI really needs to overhaul this. I cant believe it hasnt been done already.

Some questions : does the nationality of the youth intake manager and his nations knoweldge influence the intakes? When we choose coaches for u18 is better choose a trainer with 19/20 work with youngster or has a lower stat but better stats in the rest?

ok so what if youth facilties are not avialable to be upgraded. SI said its a because board doesnt want it but the option isnt even there to ask

I’ve done all this and find it completely random if I get good intakes. Everything upgraded and each year had awful intakes, not upgraded anything and have decent ones

Does someone which skin he is using?

HOYD reputation allegedly has a bigger impact than their stats. My personal experience backs that up, but I haven’t seen confirmation of the theory

can i just say that this is msising that can help create better youth intakes.the big thing your facilties but just glossing over the fact u can get youth players from affialte clubs that can be where you get your best youth players.
