I use foam clay for earrings! It's really cool and convenient. Obviously earring-making means I work on a smaller scale, but it's easy to paint over, and once I glaze it it's pretty water resistant. I'm glad jazza discovered this amazing medium! He never ceases to amaze me! Thank you Jazza!

This is exactly what I did with the Crayola version of it. I even ripped up some that had dried to get rough, craggily surfaces. I worked perfectly and since I used it for the basis of a wall hanging, the light weight was very much a must for me.

I LOVE foam clay ! I originally started using it to make my kid obscure figures/toys that were impossible to find or expensive which it’s perfect for because if you use a wire base and work very thinly then it still has minimal movement like bending the arms ect ! And if it’s breaks super glue works crazy good to fix it .. I’ve seen multiple youtubers (not Jazza obviously) bag it saying it’s useless , you can only do very simple child like stuff with it but it’s just not true ! Realistic is very ultra hard yes but I have made some awesome very detailed models using this clay you just have to go slow and work in very thin layers and add tiny bit by bit while drying in between ! If you try to make the whole piece in one go then yes it will be cartoony and simple . Wire and tin foil are your best friends with foam clay and you should keep the unused clay covered at all times it starts to dry crazy quick ! Instead of carving out details which is super difficult with this clay you just build up your details by adding bit by bit ❤

You can do so much with this clay! I love using it for miniature food, it has the perfect texture for bread especially. You can shade the clay with both watercolors and acrylic to get realistic looking results.
@pinki8888
@pinki8888 Жыл бұрын
@@janemiettinen5176 that’s awesome I hope it helps !! The reason I said bit by bit (I add cm thickness onto the alloy foil base to start but then go down to mm or so thickness) is because if you go thick the very outside drys quick but the inside stays mushy for days! Something I didn’t include is water ! I reset my clay constantly it’s the only way to get a real smoothed out harder texture and if any mistake is made or even just want to add a touch of colour with the clay you can get a tiny bit and keep smoothing it out with a wet finger in you palm till it becomes a mushy paste and you can just rub it into the Dry clay , I do this too to stick details on like just wetting dry clay it won’t stick it properly you really have to rub in new wet clay first . No amount of clay is too much clay you’ll get through it ! I’m forever buying more 😂 just don’t get disheartened ! Every time I make something my first layer (the base) I’m always thinking ugh looks terrible! But I keep adding details and it becomes better and better just practice and patience 🙂✌🏼

@@annuncreates5962 you really can but its seen as just kids clay for some silly reason🤷🏼‍♀️ yea your right I’ve made miniature burgers and stuff it really does work well for that .. I haven’t tried colouring it before I always spend time trying to mix to the right colour which is hard sometimes ! I wasn’t sure if I should use acrylic or what but I hadn’t even thought of water colour I’ll have to try it ! Does it rub of though eventually or soak in or do you seal it after ?

I recently got into foam clay too! I am a face painter, and I recently decided to start doing face paint 'bling' (pretty pre-done displays made with 3d fabric paint, gems, and foam clay that can be glued on with proaid). I've been having a lot of fun playing around with it. They're great for unicorn horns and trying to get gradients going is really interesting. I've been brushing on glitter and mica powder while it's still wet. And it's so easy to push it into molds for really pretty designs. And I can do decently sized decorations because it's so light weight it's not going to annoy the kids. I can't wait to have enough done that I can break them out at my gigs.

An other way to "mold it" if you don't want to wait for it to dry in the mold because it takes a long time. Put the mold in the freezer, demold it, let it dry and do it again! For making a lot of small pieces without buying 1000 molds it's super handy! 😁 I try it with the grey one, it works with the black and white too. For the colors IDK, I see cosplayers do it with the black and white, but they paint it after so they dont use colors 🤷🏻‍♀️ and I did it with the grey one.

That looks like so much fun to play with 😍 This is absolutely one of the things I love the most about your channel (which I must admit I only discovered maybe a couple of months ago - I blame KZfaq for that), the variety of different art and content you make is so inspiring ❤️ I will definitely put foam clay on my wishlist for Christmas this year 🥰
