On this episode of Focal Collective, Mike Lindle shoots Kodak Ektar 100 with his Nikon F100 film SLR using the Nikkor 35-70 AF f2.8 lens. As he lives out of his car/tent driving from Albuquerque to LA, Part 2 of this 2 part series shows off the scenery between Nevada and the Alabama Hills in Southern California. Watch for a behind-the-scenes look at the photos taken with this film stock while hiking the American Southwest. Ektar 100 is a great film choice to show off the beautiful color saturation in travel photography. See how this 35mm film stock performs among the diverse landscapes!

Lovely captures! Great to see the F100 perform in these incredible landscapes! Very interesting watching! Just purchased this camera and really looking forward to using it and add to the trusty Nikon array! I literally dusted off my D700 today too!

Cool F100 tip, RE: 15:15 in the video. You can program the F100 to rewind automatically when it reaches the end of a roll with custom setting #1. If custom setting 1 is set to 0, it will not automatically rewind at the end of the roll. If custom setting 1 is set to 1, it will automatically rewind when you get to the end of a roll, which is super handy.

HI! Really enjoyed the way you show things, not one of those "over" videos, Just a normal guy showing his moves around. Let us know what you're thinking about the F100, ok? Ah, already subscribed. Great job, keep it up! Best!

Thank you! Really enjoyed Pts1&2, great inspiration. I haven’t used my f100 for over a year, dusted it off and loaded it tonight and need to start shooting with it again. Digging round in KZfaq I found your little movie which was great timing. I’ll stick my 35/70 f1:3.5 on and go. Will use portra 400, that Ektar colour looks rich. Thanks again . . .

Really nice job and thank you! One question, why would you need to prove that the film you were using was the film that you used? I never doubted you 😂 Thanks again! Brendan.

Great couple of videos, I'm currently looking for a f100 to get back into film photography to go with my Nikon D810 and both the G and D lenses that I have.

That’s an excellent idea! I swapped from Nikon to Sony - sold all my Nikon glass - then bought the f100 hah - kicking myself for letting the lenses go

@@FocalCollective I've always wanted to get a manual Nikon possible a FM2 or even FA aswell as a F100, and back in the 90's I couldn't afford Nikon so i made do ( i felt ) a with minolta not that there was anything wrong with my Dynax/ maxim 7Xi it was a great camera and it would have been minolta's equivalent to the F100 but it just wasn't a Nikon. The fact that second hand prices are a great way of getting into the pro or semi pro gear so I've now got a good collection of Nikon glass collected over this past 3 years that's why I'm looking to get the film camera/'s that I wanted in my late teens to early twenties.

@@612morrison they're a lot cheaper now than they were 30 years ago :) makes the medium more accessible (although film / dev / scan can sometimes break the bank)

What metering mode are you using on the F100 ? (While rewinding the film at the end It looked like you used Matrix metering).
