dang it about getting the vid..but so glad you keep putting out your awesome messages. Practicing your strategy of strong frontal cortex responses has really built up my confidence, in spite of 24/7 symptoms and flare ups. It feels SO GOOD to feel empowered and good news, I have been starting to see results. (Listening to “Unstoppable” and “Roar” on my playlist has helped too! 😛)

Thanks so much for your videos Jim !!😊 I've been doing some NLP work but only very recently come across this whole somatic tracking stuff and your approach to pain anxiety and other symptoms after stumbling across your videos ! I love that your videos are so friendly, short, easy to understand and try to implement 🙌 I've got a question I really wanted to ask you-i likely have fibromyalgia but my most concerning issue is actually severe chronic fatigue syndrome and all the array of flu like symptoms and dizzyness that goes with it (housebound).I relate alot to everything that's been said and also listened to some curable podcasts and I honestly feel like this is exactly whats happening to me-but I was hoping you could tell me so i know if this is right for me-does your approach to pain/symptoms on your channel and in your line of work apply to CFS recovery ?🙃 thank you jim!!

Yes absolutely your symptoms are the same as what I’m talking about. There are a multitude of symptoms that are all part of the same condition which is basically Brandon nervous system one!

Thanks Jim To clarify we want to respond to brain overreacting about pain symptoms. But you mentioned about "life" stress or events. How to respond to life changes, stress, grief, loss, return to work after a holiday that cause an uptick in symptoms. Maybe my brain is overreacting to life stress or maybe it is appropriate to the life stress and needs comfort and soothing?
@thepainpt
@thepainpt Жыл бұрын
Yes maybe a little bit of both. Also get in touch with your emotions around all this stuff see if that helps!

First…thank you for this content!Curious…how do you break the faulty beliefs/emotions down but yet stay in a place of non resistance?
@thepainpt
@thepainpt 2 жыл бұрын
You break it down through your responses from your cortex. Not reacting is also part of the brain retraining as well. Meaning tell your brain it’s fine I’m not going to listen to you settle down you’re over reacting. Then after doing that you don’t react to the reaction. Go do something else live your life.

Hmm, confused. In other videos you’ve said that you should welcome and accept emotions and symptoms, but here you are saying you should control and regulate them. Isn’t that a contradiction? Great channel I’m learning a lot. I would love to see some real life examples of how these principles apply! ❤ 🙏
@thepainpt

Yes, one of the most common questions I get. Yes, welcoming sensations with non-reaction and nonresistance is key, but it doesn’t stop you from responding to them as well and let the know where you stand.

Hi Jim. I’ve been doing journal work and sometimes I often do write I am scared. I am terrified of this symptom, So I am a little confused about what you mean by We do not want our conscious mind to accept these feelings or emotions. Maybe I need a session with you ? To talk about that
@thepainpt
@thepainpt 2 жыл бұрын
The thing is we want to acknowledge and accept our feelings around life events traumas other issues. But when it comes to symptoms we want to break this whole pattern down. There’s nothing to be scared of there’s no danger with TMS. This is the message you want to send back to your brain. You certainly don’t wanna listen to the fear around the symptom because you just reinforce the symptom. True Fear around something in life that is a real danger or threat is good to acknowledge and accept. Hope that helps to clarify! :)

What happens when it’s tingling, 24/7, no “spikes”… and no amount of anything turns it off in my brain? The paresthesias are constant for 4 years now, no nerve damage found.
@thepainpt
@thepainpt 2 жыл бұрын
You’ve got to keep breaking it down until eventually it does. There’s nothing wrong like you said so you are continually teaching your brain that until it finally learns that. It’s just like teaching a dog sit as a puppy and it won’t listen to you for a long time. You are breaking down a neural habit in the brain and sometimes it can take time to change habits. Outside of that I would look at your emotions around things that happened to you in your life. Reach out if you need any one-on-one support
