Yes, I don't know whether the term "collage fodder" was around much before Fodder School (but that's in its third year now, so it's at least that old!), but I have to say I think it's useful. As you say, it's a wider term that covers anything which could be fodder for a collage or journal page or craft project of any kind really. For me, the word ephemera really has a more historical connotation - I would think of it as labels, tickets (theatre or travel!), old documents and papers, letters and envelopes, postmarks, apothecary stickers - the everyday detritus which usually gets thrown away. So having the word fodder to cover all the painted papers, mark-making, botanical doodles etc, and which can certainly also be applied to those historical ephemera, is a useful shortcut! Given my seasonal colour palette, and my obsession with nature, I suppose it's no accident that everything coordinates. I really should have taken something out of one of the plastic pockets to show properly what's going on, but you can't think of everything! Glad you like it. The portfolio itself was, I would estimate, about two to three hours work, if that (plus drying time for the papers)... and that's only because sewing machines and I exist in a state of endless warfare. Someone who doesn't have to battle for every stitch could probably knock it up in under an hour (plus drying time). The doodled sketches and painted papers are probably another couple of hours work, but the cutting out of the doodles took several hours (done over the course of half-watching a couple of well-loved films). And putting things in pockets was maybe an hour or so... All the other fodder in there was done in various classes over the last eight months - and there are only a few samples in here of the mountains of fodder I actually made, so I'm not even going to make a guess at that. But each time, it's only really a couple of hours to make a huge pile of papers, or collages, or eco-dyed fabric or whatever it might be. So a few hours a month... that's the joy of Fodder School, it all builds up over time. All this is VERY ballpark. I don't have a timer on when I'm in a state of flow!

All kinds of different things... some of these are washes of watered down acrylic paint, some are watercolour, some are liquid ink.

Not for these, I'm afraid... it's the full Fodder year or nothing! But there are also several bonus sessions from me in other Fodder months... so it's not just the main classes you get when you sign up. I do have some individual classes planned for the future - not what I'm teaching in Fodder School, of course, but other things.
