I started off with a video that went over an hour. There is so much to break down with the new gear that I decided to break this down into several videos starting with which unit will work best for each foiling discipline.

How far down would you recommend the motor for the Gen 2 Max for all rounder on all disciplines? I don't see where you get suggestions on the best way to select this option to work best for you. Thanks!

I like it to be around 20cm down. Much higher and you cannot clear the smaller chop and any lower and you are dipping the motor when you pump. If I had to chose between higher or lower from 20cm, it would be higher. On the Gen2, you cannot slam the motor next the board. It causes a bit of interference.

Can you easily change cable lengths on the foil drive system? Same for new and older assist plus setup? I want to know if have the option to run efoil style and setup for prone and down wind up top. Thank You for great video!

Thanks! I think extra stators/cables can be purchased for around $400 each. You can use the rotor/can between the sizes. Or you can buy a complete motor/cable for around $700. It is nice to have a backup motor just in case.

Hi, very interesting! I want to order the max, id like to know whats the smallest wing you think you can use in cm2 (as a ball park data, I know each wing brand profile and shape will be slightly different even on the same size), Im about your weight a d will use a light carbon 4'6 38 litre board for prone surf. Gracias!

Weight/Skill/Board shape/Board Volume/Foil Size/aspect Ratio all play into that equation. Foil size is important, but the boards shape plays a more of a role that volume in getting up on a smaller foil. I can get an Axis 900 up without much effort on the 66L AK Phazer. It is long, thin and lightweight. It does not plow through the water, it skims along the top quickly. Easy release. With the right board, a 1000cm2 is probably easy enough. Not sure about your board in particular.

Easy. Follow the boat and motor into the wake behind it. The hard part is timing catching the boat.

they only come on a few cable lengths and you pretty much need to run it in that spot. It really affects speed coming on to foil if the cable is not right.

efoil batttery life and your weight. compared to 12.6a?

I have not used it as an efoii. The Max Power battery gets me about double what the Standard 12.6AH battery does. The Max Sport and the Slim Endurance are about the same as the Standard 12.6AH. The Slim Performance is the lightest and has the voltage of the Max batteries, but the lowest run time.
