To waterstart on a strapless board with even touching the board. Place the arch of you feet on the edge of the board, keep kite at 12 and allow the board slightly tilt. Move feet slightly more inward and dive the kite. Quickly adjust feet and pop up on foil!

Excellent video - thanks.. Further, Key Considerations - type of board, the more floating and larger boards are harder to do this particularly in heavy winds and side swell - the weight of the foil, the heavier the foil and longer the mast requires more pressure to keep the board on its side - flexibility, it you don't have it then much more difficult

Another tidbit that helps is that it's easier to launch when your back hand is grabbing the rail instead of your front hand.

Yes. That is what I say in the video. Or do you mean something else with launching?

Is it normal for the board to try to go upwind when you first get up
