Following a 718 GT4 MR around a very hot Nordschleife (32C on the dash)

Chasing ‪@xthilox‬ in really hot weather with friendly passenger ‪@DmitryRY‬ during the ‪@schnelleschwaben‬ trackday.
MR was on Cup 2R, my GT4 was on Yoko A052. I had more power, the MR had better handling and a PDK (and no passenger)

Excellent driving. Seems the MR package is actually not as important as the driver behind the wheel. Xthilox is pretty handy around the Ring it seems yet there was not much between you two...

I don't think in terms of outright lap time the MR package is that useful, but it feels easier to drive and more nailed down. You have to be a bit more skilled or brave/stupid to get the same performance out of the stock PASM but with stiffer springs on it I was pretty happy. I had more power than Xthilox but I also had a passenger in the car and he did not. He was trying out cup 2r I believe and I was on yokohama. Hard to compare exactly

yeah the weather meant only a few "fun" laps were possible. I didn't get past 7:17 on the day even though I was carrying more speed in many corners than on the 7:14 two months ago. Just too hot

You had Ehresmann ECU tuning, right? Good for 15HP or so? Was it noticeable during driving or not worth it? You coupled it with over axle pipes without resonators?

No I had M Engineering tune from the US. Gain was less than 10 HP compared to stock ECU with manifolds, over axle pipes and muffler.

M-Engineering in the US, they were the first to have a flasher for these ECUs. Pretty happy with it.

Great lap! How many hp did you get from the exhaust mods? Did you also Re-map isn’t it?

About 35 HP from the lot (almost all exhaust, tune added little) but it's less than that here while running the db killer exhaust tips

JC, is het waar dat als je crasht op de 'Ring dat je HEEL grote problemen hebt en doodleuk alles kan betalen? Had het met pa over om een keer op de Nurburgring in het echt te rijden maar hij zei dat je alles kan betalen als je crasht. (de vangrail en ziektekosten e.d)

Tijdens TF heb je geldige verzekering nodig, maar deze betaalt enkel de schade die je aan derden zou berokkenen (en als zich contractueel niet hebben ingedekt dat ze dit niet doen voor de Nurburgring) de vangrail enz. is voor jou rekening ja. Het is sowieso een vrij groot financieel risico om daar rond te rijden.

Great lap , that was fun. I saw that you had a passenger and was wondering why you came closer on the straights 🤣🤣 the Yokohama seem to work well 👍🏼 how is the LapTimer ? Is the gps from car or from phone/app?? 🤔 is it possible to get the overlay on a GoPro video?

Yeah the power helps and also the rear wing in normal angle makes a difference at high speed. I tried running more downforce but it did not help me, probably the MR suspension gets more benefit from it. The lap timer is racechrono (android) so overlay onto Gopro video is possible 👍🏼

@@JCviggen1 oh is it? I thought that’s the one from Porsche?? 🤔🤔 yeah maybe that takes some speed also .. gurney and other wing angle 🤔

@@xthilox Yeah my car did not come with GPS so the Porsche app does not work. I applied a hack to enable Android Auto. It is just mirroring my phone screen and an external 10Hz GPS module is used, its quite a neat solution compared to mounting my phone somewhere :)

@@JCviggen1 i don't know if I have GPS onboard (without navigation) .. but with apple CarPlay its maybe possible the same way 🤔

@@xthilox If you google "M.I.B. porsche" for example you will find the hack, it is free and all you need is an sd card to put in the PCM to flash it. This enables GPS also if it was not there. If your car does not have GPS antenna you can retrofit it for a small amount of money.. personally I'm used to racechrono so I did not make it fully functional to use the Porsche track app. Apparently it is possible though 👍🤝
